I guess what they say is true. All this has happened before, all this will happen again.
Starbuck a man? Absurd.

Maybe if they were using JJ Abrams or somebody with cred I mean come on Glen Larson? In that case the current TV show is almost guaranteed to be better.

The original was a fine series. The two are very different, though.

It’s gonna to be embarrassing to the original series. I like them both for what they are....but a new movie based on the original is not going to work at this point.

So for those of you with dreams of seeing your current favorite BSG characters up on screen
forget it. Instead youll get a stupid robot dog and guys in shiny spandex, courtesy of Glen A. Larson. Oh, come on. Everyone who ever saw a single episode of the original BSG knows that the guys didn't wear shiny spandex, the hot babes did! :-)
Seriously, Richard Hatch cooked up a pretty decent short film to pitch the revival of the show to the studios, a few years before the "re-imagined" show was conceived. It was probably the last time John Colicos was in front of a camera, too. AFAIK, that short film has never been leaked to the internet. Too bad.

The movie version will have no connection to the series and by the mere fact of its existence erases any hope that the current, superior version of BSG will ever get its theatrical due.
Fine by me. The old version may have been cheesy, but the new version quickly turned into a hand-wringing, hippie whinefest which doesn't even deserve to be on TV, much less the big screen.

Meedie, meedie, meedie.
Every copy of that needs to have everything but Erin Gray completely cropped out of it.

The good news: Larson was responsible for Magnum, P.I. and Quincy, M.E., too.
The bad news: He was also responsible for Buck Rogers, Knight Rider, BJ and the Bear, Sheriff Lobo, Manimal, and Automan.
It's-a gonna be a big-screen suckfest.

a "Battlestar" movie being made on his terms. A version of BSG that is uplifting, affirms the intrinsic human yearning for life and liberty, that doesn't demean and debase concepts such as religion, faith, faithfulness, leadership and humanity? A version of BSG that is clear on moral principal? That celebrates both heroism and humility?
Why can't the arrogant little turd writing this article conceive of the possibility that American movie goers would prefer such a film?

I have no idea where you get that. Early on the show explored the War on Terror and took a very conservative position. The populace wanted to ignore the enemy and go back to pre-war lives.......and they paid for it. The show also questioned the political correctness of abortion during a fight for species survival.

One of my relatives worked on the original show. The actions of the director, producers, etc. are what convinced him to retire.

Well, if you throw Gary Coleman in to the mix, you must also include Twiki.

The original wasn’t too bad.
In 1980, they to resurrect it. That series ran 10 episodes only. It had turned into a kiddie program.

Without John Colicos and this being 10 years ago, I don’t see the point to reviving BSG TOS.
