Mustang Ranch in History (vanity)

The Mustang Ranch and $850 billion bail-out:

Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it.

They failed and it closed. Now, we are trusting the economy of our country and 850+ Billion Dollars to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze.

Now if that don't make you nervous, what does???

Government businesses only works when the government has a monopoly, can tax any amount to make them work and you are required by law to use them. Public schools, the DMV, electricity, licenses, fire departments, etc.

“Our government couldn’t make money selling booze in a whorehouse” sounds like a great bumpersticker!

According to Wiki (take it for what it’s worth) the government sold off the assets for tax evasion - but I do like the ballistics of that e-mail - ~FReep on~

Either the ranch workers couldn't handle the OSHA requirements, or they couldn't compete with government workers.

Mustang probably went down the toilet because the Feds probably install a camera in every room. Government loves cameras, look at the red lights, and, and, and, and. Is the world getting smaller or is it my imagination.

I can understand the government’s ambitions at the beginning of the Mustang Ranch experiment. It has, after all, at 535 whores, been running for 220 years the biggest cathouse in the West, and the prices just keep going up.

Looks like they don't pay taxes...that's probably the only thing they won't do. How sweet it is, they screw the government. But alas, they got caught.

There was a better return on investment. Customers usually made deposits.
