As one of Steny Hoyers constituents I can say that every time he comes up for election I vote against him, however his Democrat Constituents outnumber us badly and the Republican party wont spend a dime in his district because he is so well entrenched.

As a fellow Maryland subject you're not alone. Part of the problem is that they gerrymandered what used to be Gladys Spellman’s district so that they could create a safe district for Steny as the district in Prince Georges County was trending overwhelmingly black and give the blacks a district as well. Peter O’Malley had his fine Italian hand in that effort I'm sure.
