A man arrested and charged over the weekend for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after defecating outside a local International House of Pancakes has been identified as a former Cameron County assistant district attorney.
Thomas Whitley Teague, 26, was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday morning after police responded to a call of a man defecating outside the restaurant at 2430 Pablo Kisel Blvd., according to a Brownsville Police report.
Officers arrived at the scene to find an intoxicated Teague and spoke to witnesses who claimed "the male subject had pulled his pants down to his ankles and defecated on a bench located directly in front of the establishment's main entrance," the report said.
The offense was in plain view of the restaurant's customers who reported it to police.
Arresting officers noticed Teague had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, alcohol on his breath and an unsteady balance, the report stated. The police report further said the officers noticed a large amount of feces on the bench.
Teague was arrested and taken to the municipal jail.
He was released Monday morning after a $200 fine was paid, said police spokesman Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique.
Jason Moody, spokesman for Cameron County District Attorney's Office, said Teague resigned from his position on Friday afternoon. Moody said Teague cited personal reasons for his departure.
The Texas Bar Association on its Web site, as of Wednesday, still listed Teague as a current employee of the district attorney's office. Teague graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2008 and was licensed to practice law in Texas in November.
May I be the first to say “when ya gotta go, ya gotta go”.
Disgusting, I hope they throw the book at him.
Gues you could say he gave a [fill in the blank].
One too many “rooty tooty fresh and fruitys”?
Former Asst DA

Teague Black out led to a huge brown out.

_______
C’mon, at 3AM that could be anyone in Washington.

A $200.00 fine is a small book.
Ridiculously small fine.

“Texas Bar Association”
Usual great reporting and source-checking, I see: the organization is the State Bar of Texas. And if this kid’s already a “former assistant DA” at 26 years old, he’s headed down a bad road. Sounds like the impaired lawyer program has another candidate.
Colonel, USAFR
One of the absolute all time funniest comments here. Ever.

Yes, we...ughh...can!
He was only licensed to practice law in November and he’s already quit his job?
