Sen. Gregg withdraws nomination as Sec. Commerce
I'd guess you're right.
He voted FOR the tax cheats. He’s marginally more honorable than the rest of those scumbags.
The stimulus plan should be renamed the Welfare Expansion Act of 2009. It will vastly increase federal spending, but will do next to nothing to alleviate the current, government-caused, economic crisis.
If the Obama administration had any common sense, it would eliminate mark-to-market accounting. If Congress and the president had brains, they would eliminate the federal income tax and all its excess baggage, replacing it with a national sales tax.
The above two actions would result in an unprecedented economic boom.
Sounds to me as if Gregg ‘Cowboyed-up’ and grew a backbone, hair on his chest and a pair of cajones!

I for one am glad this all played out this way — shows that republicans were willing to meet Obama half way but he chases them away with radical left policies...
Gregg may be naive but he is basically smart and NOT a RINO — more centerist than some — but no Arlen Spector — who (by the way) maybe Obama’s next target to flip to the darkside... “Arlen “not proven” Spector, Special Envoy to Scotland” — he can study arcane elements of Scotish Common law...
Thank you, kellynla, for this post. Very good news.
Love it!
Who would want to be Secretary of Commerce for a President who intends to destroy commerce?
Or for the hard core: 22:30 ZULU
Interesting theory. Thanks for posting.
Ha! Good one.
YahooNews
WASHINGTON Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire abruptly withdrew his nomination as commerce secretary Thursday, citing “irresolvable conflicts” with President Barack Obama’s handling of the economic stimulus and 2010 census.
People like this kind of stuff......it has brought him attention and the chance to look like a really upright guy......plus a little star power rubbing off on a rather colorless Republican.
If the crapulus bill doesn't stimulate anything except Chris Matthews' leg, Gregg could come off being elected Pope next time around.

Obama’s style blackmail by corruption and conversion by hypnosis did not work its charm this time.
I think the good Senator just noticed all of the red flags on this nomination that we all saw from the start. Better late than never.
What do you want to bet Zero will replace Gregg with “Joe the Plumber,” since Joe W. at least has the requisite tax problems?
I know, and it really upsets me that he (and other Republicans) voted for the tax cheats. But I hope refusing to join Obama was an act of integrity and he is at least starting to make decisions based on principles. He will probably now be targeted by liberals and the MSM as a result of his decision. Let's hope he actually grew a pair.
