WE Surround Them
http://www.glennbeck.com ^ | February 11, 2009 - 0:00 ET

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

Do you believe that your voice isn’t loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore?

Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach…as if you’re completely alone?

If so, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Once you pull the curtain away you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all.

We surround them.

So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain? Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

You Are Not Alone

If you agree with at least seven of those principles, then you are not alone. Please send a digital version of your picture to: wesurroundthem@foxnews.com and then stay tuned to the radio and television shows over the coming weeks to see how we intend to pull back the curtain.

Why place it in a central location with others that may be against the current administration?

Ever been to Facebook or Myspace?

You should check out Beck’s show. He has a way of bringing his point home. The other day he had a screen inset of the “stimulus” bill coming out of a printer for the duration of his show. Last night it was a counter counting 15 milllion dollars at a time up to a trillion dollars.

I think the thing that really says it all about Beck is the story about the American girl who was pulled over in Mexico and given to a drug lord as a gift. CNN made him drop the story but he ran with it in his first week on FOX and says he’ll continue to run with it.

Facebook is not the same thing.

I'm reminded of notices that police stations send to those with warrants saying they've won the lottery or something. So the criminals show up at the location to collect their prize and....busted!

This sort of viewer grabbing stunt will have conservatives sending in their ID’s and photographs to one, democratically owned news outlet.

Tell me that wouldn't be a sweet place to start looking for those who see the Obama admin as THEM....no need to look through endless face book accounts.

I could be wrong, but when PC speech came out I told a friend it meant trouble down the line, she laughed at my silly thought, but I was right..I could e right about this as well.

I’ve always wanted to check out his show, I’ve seen the threads on here about it. I don’t think Glen Beck has a bad idea here, but Fox News gives me the creeps (as all news shows on TV do)

Roger Ailes himself recruited Glenn Beck quite strenuously. I am quite sure that Roger Ailes knew exactly the talent that he was bringing on board.

Also, Glenn was the immediate ratings winner in his time slot. Equals Glenn sells ads. Equals Roger likes Glenn even more.

He is not hysterical at all from where I sit. He is, in fact, more loaded with good humor and common sense than the entire cabal in DC.

God BLESS this GOOD MAN and each of his efforts to bring our nation back to the center!

I don’t know....it’s not far fetched, I’ll give you that...but on the same token, I almost think it’s a bit of paranoia.

My husband is the same way and it’s driving me nuts. He’s suspicious of everything and it is taking the fun out of life.

Its one thing to be careful and play it safe..it’s another to see doom and gloom in everything.

Have you seen the movie “Eagle Eye”? Talk about govt control.

Paranoia. That's just what my friend said about PC speech.

Turned out, I wasn't paranoid.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy life, I do not let worry rule me. I have it better than most right now. My husband and I both have our jobs, cars paid, ready to pay off mortgage, a bit in savings and other assets - we'll weather the financial storm zer0 creates.

But it's not about me and mine. It's about the Country and what turn it could take. Being aware of the possibilities is playing it safe, IMO.

Never saw EagleEye..saw conspiracy theory though ;>)

I don’t think my assertion that if Beck continues his escalating hysterical rantings he’ll be off of Fox News.

My comment has nothing to do with the ratings.

As John Gibson.

Reread my post. I did note the content.

My point is he’s becoming more and more hysterical on air, and if he CONTINUES to escalate, eventually he’ll get dumped from Fox.

It won’t be the first time thats happened on Fox, btw.

And it won’t be the first time Beck has been dumped by a media outlet for going ‘over the top’.

I actually listen to Beck. Got it FROM HIM.

Note the ‘curse jar’ he’s putting five buck in every time he curses on air.

Its always helpful to watch the show before discussing it....

We’re allowed to disagree, and I respect ‘how’ you just did with me on this topic. Refreshing in light of some of the other posts....(chuckle)

Don’t get me started on Fluff and Friends in the morning.

I know.

Doesn’t change my view that if he keeps escalating his rants, eventually he’ll implode and they will dump him.

Beck’s show is one of the shows that the Mrs. will sit down and watch along with me....informative and entertaining.
Does he get excited at times, yes, but I ain’t holding that against him...it’s a positive in my book.

Even though I only catch Glenn on radio, please add me to your ping list for the TV show. I think he’ll be covering same subjects in both media, thanks.
