His accent makes his voice distinct. Why change it? But I know people who talk like him and mangle their words like he does.
He used to do a morning show with red-diaper baby Ron Kuby. It was pretty good too, Kuby has a good sense of humor.
Anyway, enjoy listening to him.

I call BS. You cannot interrogate people who have been told by their locals that they will not view TV after February 17th, and then make them the govt lovers for being afraid of losing signal.
i am not the authority on borough accents i used to be....the various nuance was really entertaining
i often thought though that some Bronx accents sounded like old New Orleans speak
southern accents...

okeydokey, I’m done. I called into Sliwa trying to tell him the plight of the common folk of which he obviously is not one. This is not the (live occasionally) thread of Curtis Sliwa, it’s done. “Let them get a new TV, not on the taxpayers dime” basically is what he said. I don’t pay for TV. I have in the past paid for Directv. We have, for many years watched snowy TV in order to keep up on things. I don’t personally care what happens to my TV. However, I know a lot of farmers, countryfolk, and elderly who, if they were denied television would be seriously up in arms. I saw it coming, and for me, I don’t care, I have the internet and the radio (in my car on good days it’s scratchy —AM) But I’ll be damned if I’m going to host a thread for this dude who seems like an ordinary guy, who hasn’t got a clue what everyday heartland country people want. They have been duped, I have been testing the situation for them, and they are going to go through the roof on this.
“The Heartland People” are a shrinking minority in the United States, despite their belief that they/we “are” America. This is why the red/blue map is meaningless, as cows don’t vote.
Yeah, well when pushed, we work harder than a thousand cityfolk.
Up here, we keep our goblins safely segregated in the milltowns that have seen better days. The hypocricy of the libs around here is absolutely hysterical. They will condemn anyone not in their circle as "racist" but tell them that public housing should be built in their towns or kids from Elizabeth bussed to Westfield and they will sound like a more polished version of George Wallace.

WABC keeps him around to fill the unwanted time slots. I'm happy for him but his routine is boring.
As I understand it, he is a friend of Mark Levin. I love Mark Levin, so I was willing to give Sliwa a chance. I can’t say I think he is a joke, because I don’t believe many people understand what it is I am trying to argue about digital TV. I will have to try to post something tonight after work, I am still fuming over this whole DTV thing and I gotta get my thoughts out. But he seems a bit too much, ‘let them eat cake’ to the poorest and the elderly on this one.
My girlfriend is from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, her grandparents are from Sicily, and her uncle was born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan.
Her accent is SO different from her uncle’s, and her friends from other parts of B’klyn are so different you’d think they were from other states entirely!’
