Is there a Curtis Sliwa live thread? I can't find one. Just wondering. I am new to listening to him, and would like to learn about him and his show's history from somebody who knows him. He seems like family to me.
He just said, “gimme my liquid Prozac” is Curtis a drinker? and what does he like?
sliwa is slime. the guardian angels were a gang just like any other. they just had better PR. sliwa himself was a rather large drug addict who liked to fight cops and commit crime as a youngin.
simply because he has found a way to capitalize on his PR and make money does not change what he is. you will find no fans of his in my department.
I agree that the moron ceo’s who took the bailout deserve the Obama treatment. In fact, we should call it the ‘Obama treatment’
Well, then get bent.
Really? Cuz I’ve heard him on TGO’s show, and I thought he was awesome.
By the way, this chick caller should have a show.
your new to him, you’ll learn. (BTW i’M NOT LISTENING to curtis so I can’t reply to your play by play)
I was born in Middle Village and grew up on the Island. I enjoy picking apart the dozens of accents around here.
Curtis has a poetic flair that defies logic and beauty, yet after all these years, I’m still not tired of that lunatic in the beret & red sateen jacket.
Now, hang on a minute, I don’t care what he did as a youth, I understand he is ‘down for the struggle’ for me as a redneck, what’s your problem with him other than your aversion to people who have done drugs?
now now don’t go that route, I said I like him, I’ve known him since his Lisa times..waaaaay back
I have to say, if anyone was screwed by Madoff, they shoulda known. I used to be a securities agent (life insurance for Prudential) If anyone believes that something comes from nothing, its total bull. I hated the work, I spent lots of afternoons trying to convince older people that their investments were based on the volatile market. They loved the numbers, but hated the idea that it could be worth shit if the market turned downward. By the way, this was while the market was worth 4600.
My husband says bot-ul (bottle).
It’s funny about the Long Island accent of the people who moved there from Brooklyn. More Brooklyn than the Brooklynites of today.
You lived in the city a while, ever hear anyone talk like he does? He is a well-honed charicature of the Brooklyn street kid.
Maybe it plays across the river but to me it sounds like Terrence Aloysius "Slip" Mahoney on steroids (Leo Gorcey). It's as if Foghorn Leghorn represented the true Southern accent.
you’re right. mea culpa, I was reading the moron thefactor. Sorry. I sent that to the wrong persona.
how do you say bottle? I say bot-ul not (btl) which is the dic version.
I’ve never heard that Sliwa did drugs. The NYPD people don’t like him because he and his Guardian Angels used to patrol the subways during the height of crime in NYC. Sliwa pulled a stunt, I forget what it was, where he disgraced himself somewhat.
Sliwa criticized John Gotti on the radio and guys were sent out to kill him. They almost succeeded.
I like him, I think he makes a lot of sense. And, I think his accent is real.
I did that wrong.
He says boh-ul. The t is barely pronounced. I can’t explain it, I guess.
I am from northern Michigan, lower peninsula—land of the rednecks. I know Mark Levin’s heart and Rush’s heart and Sean’s heart. I have listened to very few for very long beyond them. I think Curtis reflects my views. I do not care if his accent is certifiable. His words speak volumes.
