AMERICA-The Right Way: Staying Vigilant!(Feb. 2- Feb 6, 2009)
Various news sources and FReepers | 2/1/09 | All of Us

Posted on 02/01/2009 6:39:29 PM PST by Molly Pitcher

Good evening everyone.

Statism continues to run amok in Washington.

The O administration is set to soon unveil a Big Bank Bank Bailout...more debt onto debt for as far as we can see.

But a ray of hope: there are hints that some Dems as well as the Rs in the Senate have qualms about the Depression & Huge Deficit Act of 2009 which passed the House last week.

So we shall see.

Meanwhile we can have a lottery: how many Executive Orders will the new president sign THIS week??

Good morning! And what a great breakfast.

I just hated all the troubles like you’re having back when I had Windows. I switched to Mac about 8 months ago and never have a problem, never have to update security, never have been hacked. I still can ‘t do all the “tricks” I could do with Windows.

Last night I just figured you’d had a better offer.......lol.

'Morning Molly!

In re J. Simpson Smackdown: Yes, Nobama slammed Jessica Simpson during the Matt Lauer interview (one of the few times they didn't have audio problems, hehehe). Lauer made a remark about a magazine cover in which a picture was cropped so that Nobama was obscured from view, leaving Michelle and the 2 girls visible. Where Nobama would have been, the magazine plastered a pic of Jessica Simpson. Lauer mentioned this, and Nobama, trying to act faux put-off, said, 'Yeah, and she's fighting a weight problem, too, from the looks of it.' It wasn't a very funny remark (I mean, what guy goes out of his way to call a woman fat? Sheesh!)

The whole interview was inappropriate for a Super Bowl, and how come nobody mentioned that, when Lauer brought up the BCS issue, Nobama couldn't remember who Florida played (Oklahoma), if he is so in tune with college football??? He sputtered when talking about Florida, saying, 'Now, Florida, don't you wish you had played...uh...uh...uh...all the rest of teams in a championship game?' But he is SOOO smart...;-))

In re Hentoff: Where was he most recently? I heard that he was let go from somewhere big recently. I always thought he was a little bombastic, but maybe I have him confused with somebody else (like Savage or somebody ;-))

And did you know: Byron York has announced that he is leaving National Review, as of next Monday, to be the Washington Examiner as chief political correspondent! Apparently he will be writing daily, so now you have a new source to check in the morning: ExaminerPolitics.com...;-))

Her WSJ article is dynamite. Col. Pohl said “No!” to Mr. Obama......three cheers for the gutsy judge! This article really strips the veneer off the self-appointed Dear Leader. I’m glad she’s on their editorial board.

Good one, Molly.

Whoa! Didn't know that about York...NRO's loss...unlike Frum. LOL!

Hentoff was let go by the Village Voice, IF I'm remembering correctly!

Don't know if the Wash Times thing is regular, but Hentoff is sure strong on the free speech issue.

Has the Gregg decision been announced??

Hey all! Just wanted to drop in this morning and say thanks to all for your 'welcome backs' and your kind words about Eric. (Jemian, MozartLover.........you and your brave sons will be in my prayers!)

I won't be around too much, but it sure is nice to be able to be around!

Molly, we're back in the ice chest this morning, but at least the sun is shining!

Yesterday was a blessing! No matter what, spring is not too far away. :)

In re the Scruton article: I did not know that Arabs make up only 20% of the Muslim population worldwide. Yet it appears that the Arab variety of Islam (particulary the Saudi Wahabbi virulent strain) is responsible for 100% of the problem.

I think Scruton misses the point: Forgiveness and irony mean nothing when your new neighbors down the street, along with their friends who have also shown up recently in droves, insist on turning your community into the cesspit they just left. Jihadis and Islamists (a distinction without much of a difference) are not trying to find 'meaning'; they have replaced independent thought and free will with mindless religious ritual, and they think it'd be just fine if you did, too. In fact, they believe that the 'one, true religion' demands it. From ALL of us.

What makes America unique is our approach to the natural tension caused by the Madisonian Dilemma: The rights of the commmunity or state vs. the rights of the individual. There is no Bill of Rights in Europe. Nor in the Koran, for that matter.

Bottom line for them: The 80% of non-Arab Muslims need to find a way to throttle the Arab variety of Islam in order to head off a collossal cultural clash. It seems that this is necessary every 800 years or so with Islam.

Bottom line for the West: Immigration without assimilation = cultural suicide. We need only look at Europe to see where it is headed.

;-))

She is so very, very confused. She goes to the dr. on Thursday. I sure hope she bounces back - but it’s starting to look less and less likely. :(

Yes, it was a good weekend, the park had a dance Saturday night and a football gathering we went to although didn’t stay for the game. (not interested, to be quite honest)

The band has a bit of a break right now. Things will pick up again mid-month.

Here is an article on the smashing success that the EU has been:

Wildcat oil strikes: Europeans are finally waking up to the demise of democracy - UK Telegraph

Wonder why workers are going on stike in the UK? It's because employers are bringing in cheap labor from the poorest parts of the poorest EU countries, travel and living expenses paid, to displace locals in their jobs. And guess what? It is now illegal for the EU member government (i.e. the U.K. gov't.) to do anything about it, according to the EU treaties....;-))

Here is one that will make your blood boil:

Banks Sought Foreign Workers - OK, it's an AP report, but has actual facts in it...;-))

"SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Major U.S. banks sought government permission to bring thousands of foreign workers into the country for high-paying jobs even as the system was melting down last year and Americans were getting laid off, according to an Associated Press review of visa applications.

"The dozen banks now receiving the biggest rescue packages, totaling more than $150 billion, requested visas for more than 21,800 foreign workers over the past six years for positions that included senior vice presidents, corporate lawyers, junior investment analysts and human resources specialists. The average annual salary for those jobs was $90,721, nearly twice the median income for all American households."

So, while "American" banks were taking U.S. taxpayer dollars, they were laying off Americans and replacing them with H-1b's to the tune of an average $90,000 each...this is why unions get footholds in industries...and this is also a total abuse of the intent of H-1b...;-))
