I know I’m not the only one who thought along those lines. Now admit. ‘Fess up. Confession is good for the soul.
Oh, yum! I haven’t had supper yet and do not feel like cooking. Will you please slide that right over here?
God evening. Off to work on this, my “Free Friday”. That will require some explanation when I get time.
Well, it is always a “God evening”, but a “good evening” was the intent. LOL
In that National Prayer article the authors continue to bite at President Bush’s heels like rabid dogs.
Good evening.
Good morning, 2/3.
Speaking of Good and God, today I helped to “proof” the new New Testaments. 50 of the new books were selected out of various boxes and we have to check for certain elements being present on the covers and pre- and post-book. Then, we have to turn every single page to make sure that no pages are missing, upside-down, put in out of order, etc. It takes about an hour to go through a book in this way.
That part is very slow going because the pages are thin and when cut, stuck together. There are 1,491 pages in this particular NT translation. I know. I checked 5 of them.
At least this was relaxing work. It didn’t take any energy to sit there and turn pages. I know leading a chapel doesn’t seem like work, but I put a lot of study, prep, time and effort into that short 45 minutes. I needed a quiet work like proofing after that start.
We are experiencing our annual or semi-annual diet coke drought. I have cut down my intake to one can a day. I just found 10 more cans at the store and added them to my stash. Diet coke rationing. What is this world coming to?
I am beginning to think through ways to import the stuff for myself. I’m hunting up a supplier. LOL!
Good morning, lysie.
Nice work.
Thank you. I am going through a transition period in my life right now and am really trying to find something that I can do. I am not allowed by law to work regularly at the school and I am not allowed to work regularly in any other capacity either.
I’ve tried writing and received an equal number of rejection slips.
BUT THIS, THIS WORK, imho, is THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK IN THE WORLD EVER. “The grass whithers and the flower fades, but the Word of our Lord shall stand forever.” I am truly honored to be on this translation team.
FWIW, this particular translation team first went to their allocation in 1975. It has taken all this time.
And still there are people and languages waiting.
I'm proud to call you my friend. :-)
Good night, folks. I’m really tired.
Rest well!
Good morning kink lady, rather cold here this A.M. but it is suppose to warm up a lot later on, thankfully.
I am sitting at my computer and listening to my three roosters crowing like mad, so peaceful. I do want to get a few geese and a few more turkeys this year then sit on the front porch and sing ‘old McToby had a farm’.
YOU have a good and wonderful day and as always, thank for starting out day off as you do.
Toby
And kind lady, thank you for who you are and what you are doing.
Toby
