The Search For Peace

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds. —Philippians 4:7

At the height of their popularity, creativity, and wealth, the Beatles produced a controversial project called “The White Album.” It signaled the breakup of the band by featuring pieces that were primarily individual in nature instead of collaborative.

It also revealed a growing disenchantment with all that their fame had produced. In his song “I’m So Tired,” John Lennon expressed the emptiness of his “successful” and wealthy life with these profound words: “I’d give you everything I’ve got for a little peace of mind.” All that he had, all that he had accomplished, and all that he had become could not meet this simple, yet deep, personal need.

The world we live in cannot offer peace. It offers only poor options. Pleasure, power, and possessions are no substitute for peace of heart and mind.

Paul reminded the believers at Philippi, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7). This is the peace God brings to those who have been reconciled to God by faith in His Son Jesus (Eph. 2:14-16). It is a peace we are to share with a world that is desperate for it.

Peace—real peace—is found only in a relationship with Jesus. Have you received His peace?

Finding Real Peace
Accept the reconciliation God offers by asking Him
to forgive you. Believe that His Son Jesus died on the
cross for your sins and was raised from the dead.

I can skip commercials too, so a 3 hour show is closer to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then of course in the evenings I join FR as I did before."

Victoria, I don't think I've met you before but when I read the above, I said "Yep, she's one of us." LOL! I did look at your homepage and how lovely you are! In my mind, I was thinking I may have talked to you a long time ago on the Canteen but I could certainly be wrong! Anyway, I am glad to meet you here at Amy's Place and I am sure we will chat again. The best FRiends in the world are here at Amy's and I'm sure you already know that!

HAPPY THURSDAY!!

If I had a time machine, I'd take a little trip

I'd find a time when I was young and all was simple and sure.

My time machine would take me to a time when I was ten.

When all the worries in my world consisted of "Would it be liver for dinner again?"

The grass would be greener, the flowers sweeter and birds sing gaily all day long.

My time machine, how clever it is, it tok me to a place I remember well

A happy place were memories and lovely things all dwell

Places were my thoughts would roam free and I'll gaze up at the stars.

And wonder as the world goes on, How happy the folks would be if they ever knew God's love.

But for this I need no time machine,

No TARDIS no Enterprise

Because what I feel, what I see and know iright now

right before my eyes!

it even had the nerve to snow yesterday morning, but by afternoon, the snow melted away buy it stayed freezing cold!

Dreaming of Warm Weather It is 2 degrees here in Tennessee this morning

Houston weather is going to be PERFECT again today. I wish we could have winter all year.

Ashley Judd sucks!
She is running an ad about Sarah killing innocent wolves. Why don’t these so called “movie stars” get a life? She has put up a website about Sarah! Sarah has already fired back at her! Isn’t Ashley Judd for killing unborn babies? Shut up, Ashley Judd!

I hadn't heard John Lennon's statement but not so surprised. It all goes back to "Money can't buy happiness".

It was pretty cold (for us) last night, maybe 40, it is 50 right now, will probably be in the 70’s today. Clear, no wind, sunshine, no rain, (we need rain badly). Winter in Houston is mostly fabulous(shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone). We have rainy winters, but not this year.

Beautiful scene with snow...come to Tennessee and we will give you real snow...LOL! It was -2 when I got up and I think we are 2 above now. That is cold!

Actually, our snows have been small but they freeze on the roads and my driveway! I will stay in until we get that warm break, which will come!
