You ever get in one of those silly moods? I seem stuck in one today, I like it!
The Wild Wood
The wild willow whispers in the wind
and tells the oak of how it sinned
The russet sumac grins and listens in
to gossip with the rude shrubs again
The woods have no secrets here
so behavior is well known I fear
And most know who's rubbing bark
and who is likely to mood up dark
Budding up and Budding off goes on
from any dusky night to rosy dawn
And by day they all act pure as snow
but by night all secrets are to know
Oh stay out of the oh so naughty woods
if morals you would save if you could
Keep an ear to the wind and stories there
and keep a eye on your own life and cares

Groundhog Day
Phil Sees Shadow, Predicts 6 More Weeks of Winter
The world's most famous groundhog has seen his shadow, which legend has it means an already long winter will last for six more weeks.
Punxsutawney Phil's forecast was announced in front of thousands of revelers gathered at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. They gathered Monday morning in near freezing temperatures.
Since 1886, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, hasn't seen it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The last time Phil didn't see his shadow was in 1999.
The Groundhog Day forecast for the Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, area suggests Phil will have trouble seeing his shadow. The National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy weather for the area.
Thousands of people descend on Punxsutawney, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, each year for the tradition.

Good Morning WayzataJohnn.... I had to smile at the poem. Lately I have been amuzed by a little book from 1909 that was my dad's book. Some of the poems sound very much like this one....I will have to dig around and find one.
The name of the book is " The Bright Side"..by Charles Skinner...LITTLE EXCURSIONS INTO THE FIELD OF OPTIMISM !
It is amazing but I have also found a wealth of wisdom in daddy's little book! Have a great day!

What Day Is Today?
Over breakfast one morning, a woman said to her husband, “Ill bet you don’t know what day this is.”
“Of course I do,” he answered as if he was offended, and left for the office.
At 10:00 a.m., the doorbell rang and when the woman opened the door, she was handed a box of a dozen long stemmed red roses. At 1:00 p.m., a foil-wrapped, two-pound box of her favorite chocolates was delivered. Later, a boutique delivered a designer dress.
The woman couldn’t wait for her husband to come home.
“First the flowers, then the chocolates and then the dress!” she exclaimed.
“I’ve never had a more wonderful Groundhog Day in my life!

Mornin' Billie and Amy and all my friends at Amy's Place.
Those sure look a lot like our cows finding their way home in the Tule fog that we've had way too much of this season. But, the weather report is predicting spring-like temps very soon and the fog will be a thing of the past until next winter. :-)
Yikes, I need to get my roses trimmed back before they start sprouting new growth again. I think that is what I will be doing today.
Thanks for this happy, toe-tapping opening today, Billie. It woke me up real good!
To: MEG33
Good morning, MEG. Those are beautiful crocus (?) you've brought us this morning!
We are going to be having spring-like temps too over the next week or so - that's what they've promised. I am so ready for this!
To: JustAmy; Billie
So cute!
This banjp music may get me going enough to get more “catchin’ up” chores done.
At least the mop is in the kitchen..but it isn’t moving yet.

;o)Thank you.
I never know if it is crocus or crocuses..This will be the coolest day at 58..
I am so spoiled with mostly sunny days but I know what we need is rain.
I am going to try to hire someone to come to do the big nandina heavy pruning..must be done by March 1st or I lose blooms which means no berries. I did it last year but my back objected loudly.
