Here's the list of President Obama's invited guests to the White House cocktail party tonight -- essentially the bipartisan bicameral leadership of the House and Senate.

Six House Democrats, six House Republicans, six Senate Democrats, six Senate Republicans. Their spouses are invited as well.

Hors d'œuvres -- chicken curry, wagyu steak -- will be served in addition to drinks.

President Obama, it should be noted, is not a particularly big drinker, though he has been known to enjoy a vodka martini time and again.

Our country really is in dire times. Especially our civil servants. They just keep the party going!

So did President Bush have a no democrats allowed policy or something? Why do I keep reading articles throwing that already tired word of “Bi-partisan” where now he can’t even have a cocktail party inviting some Republicans and it’s praised as that.

Give me a break.

Using my money to bribe congressmen to spend even more of my money. Time for me to invest in a book on how to salt and smoke roadkill to preserve it for the really rough times ahead. By 2011 you'll regret just driving past that dead possum today.

I guess fried chicken, collard greens and watermelon would have been too over the top.

Though Barry does strike me as a Grey Poupon type of guy so fried chicken and greens may not be on his menu.
