This is about renting a house in Finland and using legal and correct forms to prevent problems. Article is in Finnish.

Oh boy. I have a large box full of old photos. My father liked (for me) to shoot Kodachrome slides; the last time I looked at my Philmont Scout Ranch photos, 20+ years ago, they were fading.
My dad’s slides are in a sealed metal box, and I have an URL for a site that sells a slide/negative scanner/copier that send the data right to the computer, but I don’t have the money to get it, just yet.
It’s “only” $100, but it will have to wait a bit. As for the 16 mm films...that will have to be done professionally, I think. I haven’t heard of any machine that I can afford that can do it.
Afternoon! I cut Wednesday’s front claws. She was surprised and didn’t have time to get organized to kill me. Now she’s under the bed mumbling obscenities.
Is she over her piddling?
No problems since she got back from the vet, 48 hours, I guess.

We got them a new box in a new location. When I went upstairs to give Pat his Cub Scout uniform, she came out from under the bed, smacked Shannon, and called me another rude name.
She’ll be friendly again at bedtime, I’m sure.

Speaking of bedtime, it’s nearly here, for most parties! Pat had his First Communion interview, and passed, so now I need to work him into the Hispanic Ministry schedule. Then we had a little over half an hour to kill before Cub Scouts. We went to Blockbuster, but I didn’t find anything I wanted to watch.
It’s still raining.
This may not help much, but then again, who knows?
While nothing can be done about red/green colorblindness, there is a technique to use that may be of benefit.
Essentially, it's nothing more than the old red/green 3-D glasses they gave you to watch 3-D movies. What kind of nutcake would walk around outside of the theater with them on?
Um. Here's the point; your left eye will see green things preferentially, because that's the color light it passes, filtering the red. Your right eye will see red things preferentially, and leave green things quite dark.
So on that red stop sign? Your right eye will see the stop sign plainly against a dark background, while your left eye will see a bright background with a dark sign in it. It's this positive/negative disparity that should alert you to the "Ahah! There's something that is called "red" phenomenon".
Just for an experiment, you could try the red/green glasses. If you think it might be worth the trouble, you could have a pair of "driving glasses" made up with a more subtle color difference. You might need help from someone with normal color vision for this stage. You'll want the final product to be more inconspicuous. I think a bright reflective layer on the outside might do the trick. The easy way would be to get some not-too-dark reflective sunglasses and affix a color filter on the inside of the lenses.
I'm assuming that your sister might be able to help you with this. She may be a carrier for the recessive gene, but she likely has normal vision herself. She could be interested for the sake of any future progeny as well.
That might not be true in the "near" future. It appears, according to my memory of threads here and Slashdot in the past couple of years that red/green colorblindness (RBC) is caused typically by the person possessing two red receptors instead of red & green.
An additional characteristic is often a heightened sensitivity to differences in colors in the red region, as there are differences in the peak sensitivity person to person, and with two red receptors you have two red peaks close together. I know a woman with RGC, and my experience is that she differentiates colors in the purple region much more than I do.
Interesting, in these experiments they somehow implanted the gene for green receptors in the eyes of animals that exhibited RGC in tests, and afterwards they distinguished green from red.
Color vision in mammals is an interesting subject. Having a personal reason for getting involved with it should not be discouraged.
Just as researchers have studied ultraviolet images through photography, red/green can be studied the same way.
Not only that, but the research papers are normally written as ordinary text. Should the occasional color image present itself, the technique I described above may help in deriving information from it.
However, I wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet about gene therapy. An experimental technique on laboratory animals is not indicative of a solution “just around the corner”. Lab animals usually have very short lifetimes, and some of the problems inherent in gene therapy may be masked by the shortness of those lives, even when they only die of old age.

There’s also an object size cutoff for my ‘invisible red object’ trick.
A car I can see quite well, despite it looking brown or somewhat off red to me.

This also implies that many "color-blind" men are not as color blind as we may have thought; they're just sensitive in an area where the difference makes little difference ... usually.

It may also be that to some, this color mis-match could be a function of the particular dyes that were used as well ... to those who may be especially sensitive to color variances within a "single" color range, like Darksheare.
