"Candoo (formerly Cookie) is a 2-3 year old intact Puggle. He was hit by a car up in the Ogden area almost two months ago now. He was left untreated and finally taken to the Ogden Shelter. The Shelter put out an SOS for him as they did not want to euthanize him. Our rescue group took him on and planned to have his leg amputated, do a recovery period and then place him for adoption.
The problem is Candoo has not been able to do any of that. While on antibiotics to build him up for the amputation, he crashed and ended up at the ER in Washington City where he spent a weekend. He then returned to his foster home for a day and then was hospitalized at the Red Hills Animal Hospital under the care of Scott Hannig, DMV. Dr. Hannig has been treating him for a gastro-intestinal infection with symptoms of vomitting, bloody stools, not eating, etc. He was scheduled to return to his foster home today but on the trip back got sick. He is once again at the hospital.
Dr. Hannig is aware we are a small rescue with a very limited budget and feels a decision must be made by us as to how much money we can spend on Candoo. Everyone who has met Candoo admires his spirt and wants to see the best for him.
If you have any idea for a quick, effective fund raiser, please contact me. If you wish to make a donation for his care you can make a donation directly to the Red Hills Veterinary Hospital, 435-656-8886. We have no guarantee at this time that Candoo can or will recover but we are trying everything that seems feasible."

Thanks again...
I clicked on your homepage....thankfully you do not live in my state!!! I take in any animal, any time and have my hands full right now...
Poor baby.
I volunteer at a shelter too and stuff like this is hard because you treat the animals like if they were you own. You probably already know this, but don’t put the little guy through too much pain trying to save him.
What’s the location of this little guy?
“...I got the horse right here, his name is paul revere...the man says the horse CANDOO. CANDOO. The man says the horse CANDOO...”
Thanks for the use of the hall, folks.

Prayers for this sweetie. Jesus said to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. That includes His all His creatures. May God Bless you.
Prayers up.
have you contacted the local TV station. Pick a station, call the morning show producer or go to the station and ask to speak with him or her..They are always short of “filler” quick stories and with the video they might help.
They may want you to just show up the next morning at 6am at the studio and that might work..would also help for your group!!
the morning show producers usually work from 6 to 9am ( busy during the show...) but then they stay working on the next day’s show till about 1pm.
If one stations’ producer doesn’t want the story, go to the next..local stations, and the morning show.
Prayers for Candoo.
What a beautiful doggie! Prayers for Candoo are on the way.
Poochie prayer lifted.
I wasn't going to back out on my word. The end of the story is the dog healed, walked with a limp, found a great new home and doesn't chase cars anymore. I got a very nice thank you letter from the new owners.
Prayers for the pet.

Great post & link. Thanks. My wife saved a 3 legged kitten (right rear missing) from an abandoned or foreclosed home during her workday about a year ago in the middle of winter. The kitty was in bad shape with pneumonia. About $700 of vet bills and some TLC in our house Isabella (my son calls her Tripod) is doing fine with the 4 other cats and the dog, although she still hisses at the cats but sleeps near the dog.
Contact your local Petco. They have a fund to help non-profits and they may be able to help with some publicity. I am proud to say that I work for this compassionate company. Also prayers up!
