Obama goes for the Assault Weapons Ban on Day 1! (So much for Respecting the 2nd A)

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

Obama and Holder’s idea of an AWB, if Passed, will make the days of the Clinton AWB look like the good times. The new Assault Weapon Ban will ban based on gun function and real attributes, not just cosmetics. This includes:

Semi Automatic Rifles
Handguns with ability to take magazines with 6 or more rounds
Any rifle that can mount a scope on it
Any detachable magazine
Any internal clip of 5 or more rounds
Any thing that looks like a military rifle or weapon, subject to the AG’s discretion.
All ammo that can penetrate level 1 body armor.

Democrat bans are for just 3 years maybe less if the RINO losers try and live up to their oaths and filibuster any such BS......regardless of the bills sunset or permanence factors . It’s their little BS law that the next administration will repeal or revoke etc ....

Thanks for the ping !

Good luck. There is a 25 week wait on AR-15s at this point.

Cavalry Arms is shipping new batches of lower AR receivers out to their stocking dealers right now - $125.00 at DSG Arms for a bare lower when I checked last night.

The CavArms pieces are the molded polymer lowers with integral buttstocks - not my favorite, but those guys can crank out as many in a day as most of the AR receiver manufacturers can forge, machine and finish in a month.

“Any rifle that can mount a scope on it”

Is all of that true? Especially this line? I have a Rossi .223 single shot rifle withscope. I cannot imagine that being outlawed as the reloading process is not the simplest process int he world.

If that is true, simply unbelievable!

People who pass these laws should be forced to read the Constitution.....and spend some time on a gun range.
