WASHINGTON The company that sells Little Debbie snacks announced a recall Sunday of peanut butter crackers because of a potential link to a deadly salmonella outbreak.
The voluntary recall came one day after the government advised consumers to avoid eating cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods with peanut butter until health officials learn more about the contamination.

Not Little Debbies........nooooo!
Oops!
Oh, man, you know it’s bad when they start recalling the Little Debbie’s!!!! :-O
Wish the FDA would put out a list of EVERY p.b. source so I know what to get rid of here—we only eat Smucker’s Original p.b. and I’m praying it isn’t affected...we eat p.b. every day and it will be a bummer if we can’t! :-(
(Except when it’s outlawed at my daughter’s elem. school, but that’s a whole ‘nother nanny state thread to deal with...)
I thought a product had to qualify as edible before salmonella could be any danger.
I'm already using my newest large jar of Jif, so if it were contaminated, I'd have probably been sick already. So I'm not throwing it out.
Our regular supermarket even pulled their peanut butter cookies and other baked goods in addition to the crackers and things recalled. But if it's that bad, they should play it safe. Poor old people in nursing homes seemed to take the brunt of it.
Hmmm. I have a box of Little Debbie Nutty Bars. My son already ate one package a few days ago and he’s still alive. I’m going to assume they’re safe.
This is all your fault Mr Rocks...
Well that answers any questions for me. /s
LOL Yeah we used to use our kids as safety tasters too. The’re grown now but we have the grand kids over often:)
Those Nutty Bars are just the thing when you are in a crunchy mood.
WE have in our home a jar of Jif Creamy with a used by date of Nov 07 2010 used in baking and celery dipping, all’s ok here.
This article here mentions what to look out for and Brands that are being pulled...........
LOL! Our son has an iron constitution so he’s possibly not the best barometer. Nutty Bars it is!
So, what of peanut butter ground up at the health food market?
Should I start leaving out the heaping tablespoon of peanut butter in my oatmeal with raisins?
I have some Trader Joe’s crunchy PB I’ve been chowing down lately. Not my fave peanutbutter but good on toast with a little vanilla sugar sprinkled on top. Now I’m hungry!
Me too. Finished them 2 days ago and I’m still typing.
