This will be the Wellstone of all Inaugurals
I think I’ll just plunge into a state of denial over the next few days. ;-)
Here's a good one. In the schools in Plano Texas they are allowing all the kids out of class to see this “historic” inauguration. Never done before, but when you're dealing with special people things change.
Five Lincoln quotes, and not a single one from Jefferson. That’s a glaring glitch, don’t ya’ think ?
Besides, Obama and his acolytes have co-opted Lincoln all for themselves which, to be frank, has a terrific synchronicity.
Patton like Teddy Roosevelt or even Thomas Jefferson would be unpalatable for the masses today. Norman Rockwell is dead in more than one way.
Thanks very much for posting this, Pharmboy.
Thnaks for this.. I am printing and bookmarking this.
I emailed this to my children also...
The quote that the Marxist 0bama should heed is
“ As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master”
Lincoln
But of course we know he is selective.
Good point. I guess everyone’s got an agenda...even those on our side.
The elegance of the maxim stands astride the hubris of the idiom...
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” — Alexander Graham Bell
Remember, It took a Jimmy Carter to bring us a Ronald Reagan.
I suggest everyone watch Terminator 3 on Tuesday night. The ending is quite timely, I believe.
Thanks, bookmarking and printing to read while I ignore all media (except FR) the next few days.
There is a glaring omission, a conspicuous absence if you will; where is a stirring quote from Barack Hussein Obama?
Prior: We are beacons on the road to enlightenment.
Cameron Mitchell: No, you’re dark-side intergalactic encyclopedia salesmen. Unfortunately, the home office hasn’t been quite upfront with you.
Dr. Daniel Jackson, Ph.D.: Nice work on the metaphor.
Cameron Mitchell: Thank you.
