Very nice, been there several times.
A waterfall at the foot of Flame Mountain with a 20 meters drop which has frozen over. It is located in Turufan, XinJiang province, China. Link [in Chinese]

onkar joshi January 6th, 2007 at 4:13 am this is not china. this is turkestan. china has illegally occupied turkestan just as it has occupied tibet.

@ Onkar Joshi, Turkestan (the two attempts at it) existed for about six years during the 20th century, so your assertions of Chinas illegal occupation of XinJiang is dubious at best. Tibet, on the other hand, is a separate debate.

stop affirming chinaâs aggressive territorial expansionist policy.
Its actually a common practice by westerners to use photographs of unique natural phenomena like the one above and subtly insert imperial propaganda
FIGHT THE MACHINE!

Actually the two guys on the bridge are the ones who had taken over the turkestan area, I think they flew in by mount in beta.

What is that you were saying about subtle messages inserted into phrases?
Anyway, what we are witnessing here is the waterfalls solitary resistance to the Chinese presence. Which is much better than the Palestinian waterfalls, which murder Israeli waterfalls.
I kid you not! ROFLMBO!
Blackwater Falls in winter, beautiful, isn’t it?
That brings back memories. I got a great summer shot of it and went back for the winter version years later. Maybe I’ll scan and post them later. Anyway, you can walk behind the falls into a ice cavern.
We’ve been there! We took the kids to Canaan Valley State Park one long Columbus Day weekend, and made the trip to the falls. What a gorgeous place!!
Gives a new definition to “white water”. :-)
Thanks for the ping. Nice photos; hilarious comments.
Check out photos.
I’ve been there a few times, it’s beautiful.
Absolutely inspiring...thanks sooo much
thanks for the ping, hard to believe such a massive volume of water can freeze!
Bet you this place would keep my beer cold! Great photos!!
