Back in 1984 everybody cut "Footloose. Just admit it. We all did the dance. We all knew every move. And we all had a crush on Kevin Bacon.
Now, 25 years later, with the news that Zac Efron is slated to star in the 2010 remake (and Bacon considering a cameo), we look back at the original cast members and the blockbuster hits, surprising career twists, as well as tragedy that have followed in their post-'Footloose' careers.

Yep...Graboids-Screamers-AssBlasters.
Neither did I. I still haven’t watched Footloose. But, I do like Kenny Loggins.
I thought that about J-Lo and that guy (what’s his name? - he was in the Pearl Harbor movie). Not that I thought he was “gay”, but he was actually evidently involved with another actress at that time. He and J-Lo (Ben Affleck) were in a movie at that time and it seemed like they were just “dating” to get publicity. It didn’t help the movie as I think it didn’t do so well at the box office. There may have used to be a mystique in Hollywood about who was “dating” who, but any more, they are mostly so promiscuous that no one notices or cares much.
Six degrees of Zak Efron.
Hmmm. Nope, doesn’t work.
Ohhh no not another stupid remake.
Dogg, if you do decide to date her, urge her to clean under those dirty nails and keep that ugly tongue in her mouth for photographs at least.
If they want to remake it to be contemporary, how about an archaic, stuffy patriarchal town that refuses to allow its kids to have sex with their teachers?
She’s got dirty fingernails and who knows what else.
Wow, that’s like, 2 degrees rather than 6. hehee
How about a gay couple who wants to dance at the church social?
Ever notice how it is called “sexual harassment” and a “casting couch” environment when a director or producer beds an actress but it is “romance” when an actor beds his co-stars?
Funny that Michael Gross went from playing libtard dad working for PBS as Steven Keaton, to heavily armed graboid killing machine in the tremors movies.
Never got around to seeing the first one, myself.
LOL....
“Care for a Me LT?”
They say that several of the people on “Family Ties” played against their personal ideologies.
I won’t say that Michael Gross was a gun rights supporter or survivalist, but he may not have been the lib he was portrayed as on Family Ties.
Certainly Michael J. Fox was not the Reagan loving young conservative he portrayed on the tube.
Well, Fox is a tabloid. Always was, for that matter.
“Sarah Jessica Parker as Rusty”
Somehow this makes sense since Rusty is a popular name for equine.
Good grief, I knew that Hollywood really had no new ideas but when they’re reduced to making a remake of a stereotype from the ‘80s then there is actually no hope at all.
(sigh)
Kinda like Jeff Daniels. He’s got some serious liberalism in him but not the traditional Hollywood liberalism. He still lives in his hometown where his family owns a lumberyard.
He’s a really decent guy, not the movie star type at all. + he played a great George Washington.
Zack who?
The town would have been better off if the ban on dancing had remained in place. Look at it now. Suicide, teenage pregnancy, date rape, etc shows a sharp increase correlating to the arrival of Ren McCormack.
This proves what godly people keep saying. It doesn’t matter how you try to raise your kids if you still send them to public school.
