From what I’ve heard, Windows 7 is supposed to be a whole new ballgame compared to Vista.
For a beta, its pretty solid.

Anyone know if it will run 16-bit software? Vista 64 will not. Vista Home and others work fine.

They seem to be running from Vista as fast as they can.
The big question is, will “Windows 7” be any better? Could it possibly be worse?

Should I run my foot into a wood chipper, or download Windoze 7 Beta ... such a tough decision, I think I’ll just do nothing for now.

I just ran the install on a Dell D630 Business Laptop. Std Graphics, 2GB, and a 2.20Ghz dual core processor. Install was very fast, less than 30 Minutes start to finish, including a drive reformat. Looks pretty good so far, I haven't tried to break it yet.
Tomorrow I'll load Firefox and anything else I can think of.

Note: The minimum requirements for running Windows 7 are a PC with a 1 Ghz Processor, 1GB of RAM, 16 GB of disk space, 128MB of video memory and support for DX9 graphics. They forgot "Patience of a Saint".

Already got it..
Running it now,BUT, there are no NVIDIA drivers for any card less than a GeForce 7....
I’m running a GeForce MX 4000 and only the ‘generic’ drivers will work.
Just a ‘heads up’.

I downloaded it to try it out.
Seems like vista to me.
(but I haven't explored it very much yet)
I'd appreciate a heads-up if anyone comes up with a patch/fix for the lightscribe problem.
(won't install)

Some of us downloaded and installed it this past weekend. I can dual boot Vista or Windows 7 now. I’m quite impressed with it so far. Why I’m even typing this reply from Windows 7.
I wouldn’t try to upgrade an old computer with Windows 7. XP is a fine operating system if you already have it.
The Windows haters have their own agenda. Take anything they say with a grain of salt.
