It’s official: Marian Robinson, the 71-year-old mother-in-law of President-elect Barack Obama, will be moving into the White House, transition officials said on Friday.
In fact, Mrs. Robinson is already in town, helping to smooth the family’s personal transition as Mr. Obama, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters prepare for new lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I taught middle school last year (that was great fun....) and every single African-American family at least had one grandparent living there....or the kid living with grandma only.
Michelle wants to see the First Lady become a paid position.

Hey, as long as we’re thinking “outside the box” with Obama, why not a “White House Annex” in, say, Nairobi? Get ol’ George (the bro from Nai-Ro) out of that packing crate? All a matter of definitions, right?

I don’t care. Sticking with my opinion that kids should take care of their elderly parents and grandparents, if the parents want it that way, Obama is doing the right thing, as long as O pays the bills out of his own pocket. If grandma needs special care and attention, the taxpayers shouldn’t get stuck with paying for it, not at White House prices.
