Mystery Roar from Faraway Space Detected
Yahoo News ^ | Jan 7th, 2009

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Space is typically thought of as a very quiet place. But one team of astronomers has found a strange cosmic noise that booms six times louder than expected. The roar is from the distant cosmos. Nobody knows what causes it. But the newly detected signal, described here today at the 213th meeting of the American Astronomical Society, is far louder than astronomers expected. There is "something new and interesting going on in the universe," said Alan Kogut of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.

that last quote sounds a lot like a gamma ray burst
That won’t be a good day on earth

I am wondering if they will be able to deciper any code, pattern or perceive any “information” in this cosmic roar emanating near the beginning of cosmos “time”

“information” that ordered the elements and started life - perhaps out of “light” - and where/how it orginated- is what is missing in evo arguments

Mystery Roar from Faraway Space Detected
But now I only hear
Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar,
Retreating, to the breath
Of the night-wind, down the vast edges drear
And naked shingles of the world.

From Matthew Arnold's "Dover Beach".

Perhaps the radio roar is the disturbance left behind by the rapid expansion of space. Or perhaps not. Of course, this is not what Arnold was talking about. Follow the link to see the antecedent of his "Its"...

Spacetime has stretched as far as it can and is now rebounding ... back to the future bang.

Eta Carinae’s chief significance for astrophysics is based on its giant eruption or supernova imposter event seen around 1843. In a few years, Eta Carinae produced almost as much visible light as a supernova explosion, but it survived. Other supernova imposters have been seen in other galaxies, for example the false supernovas...

I think Fox had said something about an Eta Carinae’s explosion 11/11/09
but who knows, there is much about many things going on in our world right now..

IMHO- We can only count on one thing GOD’s holiness on mankind.

It is possible to see acoustic waves in the early universe by looking at patterns of mass distribution, but I’m pretty sure this experiment is about that. Looking at other articles on the internet, it seems like the media is parroting the confusing terminology from the experiment’s scientists. Shame on them. They are probably trying to stir up interest rather than being accurate.

They don't have their filters set right. It is the noise coming from my daughter's MP3 player.

I can hear High School Musical 3 in my sleep-two rooms away-with the doors closed-with a 175 pound mastiff snoring next to me- (don't ask, he sneaks up when the wife gets up. He likes to cuddle.)

"The universe really threw us a curve," Kogut said
Then Kogut, you are in the wrong job.

Other radio galaxies also can't account for the noise – there just aren't enough of them. "You'd have to pack them into the universe like sardines," said study team member Dale Fixsen
Kind of like Super Gamma Ray bursts, right Dale? They kind of blew E=mc2 to heck for a while didn't they. And 'your' solution to make E=mc2 work is still a bit head shaking to me.

For now, the origin of the signal remains a mystery. "We really don't know what it is,"said team member Michael Seiffer
Gee Michael, something coming from the outer *edges* of the Universe and its a mystery. I'm shocked. /s

they don't get it yet. God is messing with them :-)
