Move over, Fluffy and Fido. There's a new batch of pet names in town: "people" names! Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI), the nation's largest and oldest provider of pet health insurance, scoured its database of more than 466,000 insured pets to find the most popular dog and cat names of 2008. (Animals not insured by VPI were not included in the survey.)
But for those who like to think outside the (litter) box, VPI also came up with a list of unusual pet names, like Meatwad and Miss Fuzzbutt. The company's employees selected 50 unusual dog names and 50 unusual cat names, and then voted for the top 10 in each category. See which names were up to snuff.

I am SO glad I didn't have a mouthful of soda when I read that! ROTFLMBO!!!!
Living in the boonies has it's benefits - - - - - - - no neighbors close by to hear me when I go off at some of these cats when they act up.
Having multiple pets can be an adventure at times, but it's worth it to know they have a good home. They don't deserve abandonment. Just so cruel.
And I'll tell ya, that's not too far removed from what it can be like around here with all these cats. Or at least what it feels like. LOL!
We have four, and they tend to push my buttons sometimes.
One of these days they're gonna have to understand that I am Alpha Cat around here! :-)
Well, we have a little alpha in training. Yeah, the cats can be a pain sometimes. It’s probably because I let them get away with everything when they were kittens.
LOL!!!!!
Yes, living in the boonies does have its advantages, and we love them -— one advantage of course being I can have all these cats. Including the one that just bit my chin -— I think I have another Alpha cat in the making!
I, of course blame the cats on our daughter, but I have com to the conclusion I’m just living vicariously because of my cat-forbidden childhood. I’m always the sucker that lets another kitten (or 2 or 3) come home........
OOPS -— you were supposed to be included in my post — so sorry.
I won’t mention my dog’s name, but I will say that every morning I let her out to do what I call an Obama in the grass.
Bet you COULD saddle her up to go for a walk at her adult size, LOL. A friend of mine had a Great Pyranees whom I adored, even if he did have to stash rolls of paper towels everywhere for the drool. I always kidded him about saddling Winston up to go for his walk, beause they were out there rain or shine.
I prefer the giant breeds but choose smaller for my own pets. Seems the vet charges by the pound for most visits.
And then she goes to the carpet and throws up a Biden.
“And then she goes to the carpet and throws up a Biden.”
No, if she has to throw up something, we let her outside to do a Blagovich...
I have one male kitty who found his way to my house 14
years ago.. first cat I ever had, named him Thomas S.(stray)
Kat. Three years ago, my adult child left MinHzu (Mean Sue)
with me, she’s something else but she’s so pretty and knows
it. I really love cats and am a monthly donor to a no kill
shelter for cats. If I had actually gone out & got a cat
on my own, I would have thought more about what to name it.
Good thing your medical insurance covers CAT scans.
OH man..............I did not need that image in my mind. My dog is an absolute dingbat, but I know Joe Biden and wouldn't insult my poor mutt that way.
I love the names of your cats!
Gateway is the only one of our cats that I have named. She’s white with big black splotches and the ads for the Gateway computers was the first thing I thought of when we were bringing her home. If I were to rename her now it would be Miserable B!otch!!!!!
Also not good to name a dog "Buck Eyesuck" if you live in Columbus.
Maybe a little Panetta?
I choose my dogs for security reasons as well, which is one reason why I like the giant breeds. But Newfoundlands just have the most fantastic dispositions. So sweet, yet so protective. And quiet. My Lab, she rushes and barks and growls at anything approaching, but my Newf, she stands quietly between me and whatever perceived threat there might be, until the Lab sounds the all clear, then they go play. They are quite a pair.
ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!
I may fuss about my critters from time to time, but I care too much about them to insult them in such a way. Heck, I wouldn’t insult the critters I keep mine around for the purpose of elimination that much.
Got it!
Leaf my pony along!
