It might have been helpful to offer some clue of what you’re talking about for people who haven’t been watching NBC tonight. I just had to google “new Pepsi logo” myself, and now I remember noticing this on the last can I got out of a vending machine a few days ago. So they changed the shapes in their tri-colored circle. Who cares? Is there something offensive about this I’m missing?

Yep, noticed this awhile ago. My Family has always made jokes about Pepsi=Dems and Coke=Repubs. Not entirely accurate but we have fun with it anyway.

I live on Pepsi One and Pepsi Max. I don’ care what they put on the can, I’m not giving it up. Can’t stand Coke.

In October 2008, Pepsi announced they would be redesigning their logo and re-branding many of their products by early 2009. In 2009, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max began using all lower-case fonts for name brands, Mountain Dew has been renamed “Mtn Dew”, and Diet Pepsi Max was be re-branded as Pepsi Max. The brand’s blue and red globe trademark became a series of “smiles,” with the central white band arcing at different angles depending on the product. The new imagery is starting to be used. In the case of Pepsi, the logo has the medium-sized “smile”, while the new lower-case font used on Pepsi’s products are to be reminiscent of the font used in Diet Pepsi’s logo from 1975-86.

Pepsi made the logo clumsier and less attractive (sort of like the voting public just did to America). If Pepsi consciously did this to ape the 12th Imam's logo, they are willing fascists... if they did it because someone thought it was an improvement, they are merely foolish.

I don't know how much money (or favors) was paid for the new logo, but rotating Studebaker's last - or nearly so - logo 90 degrees and adjusting the colors a tad would have done the trick and cost nothing.

Are you insane? The logo is supposed to be a smile (doesn’t look like one to me, but that’s what I read in the marketing mags). You’d stop buying a product because something kinda sorta maybe looks like something connected to Obama? Did you stop buying Proctor and Gamble products because of the moon and stars logo?

Ok, this kind of reminds me of when my cousin, in the 2nd grade, tried to convince me that Dodge was bad. Because of the Ram (Looked Satan) seal. Oh, and some toothpaste was bad because it had a muslim symbol (crescent and star or something).

I just looked at her like she had lost her mind.

Haven't seen it. Pepsi has always been a Coke wanna be. I used to work for Coke. But I don't drink either one. I prefer ice tea to any kind of soda drink.
