Does a kid at 12 know the difference between right and wrong, probably. But so should a parent.

That’s not what I’m saying at all. This is the second recent case where a youth has murdered their parent because there was documented evidence of parental verbal and/or physical abuse.

And I don’t believe a three year old has the discernment between right and wrong.

The boy's lawyer, Sanford Edleman, had argued that the boy did not intend to kill his mother but only wanted to get back at her for abusing him.

Then why didn't he tied her shoe laces together, super glue her lipstick shut, you know, rascal boy stuff.

Please, spare me the righteousness. I did read the article and all the two "experts" did was agree with the killer's lawyer - "he suffered physical and verbal abuse."
No doubt the experts were defense experts and the "abuse" was little more than what the boy told police - "My mommy yelled at me and slapped me." Which is all the evidence you need to apologize for him killing his mother.
Hell, you even tried to blame the victim - "Kids learn behavior from their parents."

Nah, just lazy humans who should never breed.

Btw, love the tagline.

The boy’s attorney should ask for leniency from the court since the boy is now an orphan.

“This is the second recent case from that county of a youth killing.

What is going on in Cochise County?”

I’m hoping this court case ruling will cause a precedence in that other one, the one where the 8 year old killed his father and another man. I think his father’s friend.

You don’t think a three year old can be taught not to hit or bite mommy because it hurts?

The Court allowed their sworn evidence in. There were other evaluations done as well.

You missed my above post 43

Don’t you have to be 14 or older to be charged as an adult?

I don't know, I don't think the article states that, and I'm not going to research that right now.

Is your comment relevant to my statement? Or is it just something you'd like to know?

Yes they can. But I am not sure they know the diff from right and wrong just because they can be taught not to do it because Mommy tells them not to do it.

Because if you are charged as an adult you can be sentenced to serve longer than the age of 18

That's how mine learned not to bite. And the first one learned it at two.

And you didn’t verbally and physically abuse your children either.

This is the second recent case from that county of a youth killing.
What is going on in Cochise County?

Y'know, it's been a while since we've had one of these cases down here. Are you thinking of the 8-(now 9)-yr-old in Springerville who killed his father?

The FAMILY is guilty of not reporting the abuse to the authorities . . . police, social worker, teacher . . . who would then report to the proper State/County agency.

This wasn’t a one time occurrence of child abuse but neither the boy nor his aunt reported it to anyone and THEY need to accept responsibility for NOT doing something. We are responsible for our own lives. What were they waiting for?

I don't mean to meddle in your argument here, but I don't think anyone is suggesting that the Mother deserved this. However the phrase "you reap what you sow" comes to my mind.

Let's see:

* Live-in boyfriend
* Mommy didn't want the boy living with her anymore
* Physical and mental abuse (and considering the above bullet, more than likely neglect)

This doesn't sound like a typical parent disciplining a child. Thus, the outcome is just as typical.

Sad for all involved for sure.
