"He is a docile, sweet boy," Until you ask him to clean his room.

Just make sure you don't tell him to do any chores around the house.

The boy's lawyer, Sanford Edleman, had argued that the boy did not intend to kill his mother but only wanted to get back at her for abusing him. Yeah. That's why he fired eight rounds into her.

Wow. Eight rounds.
I wonder if he played "shoot 'em up" video games? It would be interesting to know.

Then let him move in with you ... Just make sure you don't tell him to do any chores around the house. I've helped raise some of the "problem children" in our family. I'd take the kid, and he'd do chores. Just like all the other "problem kids" I helped with. One went on to become a Marine, one went Navy, and one went Army Guard.
But none of them were 'docile'. They needed a firm and fair hand in their lives.

They are ALL ‘sweet and docile’ — and beware to all moms who get frustrated with their s/d boys and pull rank.

docile, sweetIsn't that how pit bull owners describe their killer pooches?

I am trying to picture this kid on Oprah’s couch in the midst of a tearfest. At the end there is loud applause from the audience as the show cuts to commercial.

I play shoot ‘em up video games. In fact, my screen name is a character from one of those games.
Strangely, I’ve never shot my parents.

Under Arizona law, the boy can only be held until he turns 18. Sentencing is set for Jan. 23. He is 12 now, so he serves just 6 years for the premeditated murder of his own mother; emptying a full clip from a .22 into her. Life is cheap.

There was sworn mental health testimony that the youth was abused.
This is the second recent case from that county of a youth killing.
What is going on in Cochise County?

Isn't that how pit bull owners describe their killer pooches? I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a pet that wasn't a stone cold killing machine carnivore. From Fluffy to cat to Dumbass the Rottie mix.
But you bring up a good analogy. You forget they are stone cold killers at your own risk. Same thing with an untrained and unsocialized human. Especially children becoming adults.
