Net Applications' Operating System stats for December 2008 show Apple's Mac hit 9.63% share of the operating systems visiting Net Applications' network of websites worldwide. The stats also show Apple iPhone with a new all-time high of 0.44% share and Apple iPod with 0.08%.

I'm holding on to XP because Vista isn't a good option. I'm dual loaded with Ubuntu Linux to see if it is a viable replacement for a while because I'm not keen on dishing out some big bucks to start learning the Mac OS.

So far, Ubuntu seems to be doing fine, but there are a few apps that haven't been fully GUI integrated for Linux and require command-line entries, which I'm not too fond of. Overall, Linux seems to be working good for me and it's free. I just use the XP to use some of the apps that aren't so convenient in Linux. I have a NTFS partition that can be accessed from either OS and is used as a storage/staging area for files that may need the dual access.

No, DennisW, it is not the few hundred or few thousand Psystars that are causing this rise. It is the millions of new Apple Macs that were sold last year to previous Windows users.

Yaeh google news has lots of mac mini rumors. At least mac mini has DVI. Lots of todays little computers have VGA.

In this down economy luxury items are doing terrible
Apple has to have some lower prices otherwise it will lose the great game
They can keep quality up and the looks very stylish but they must come in at lower price points for some items  (this why Psystar is getting away with murder)

McDonald's and WalMart did great last year. Those two stocks and Family Dollar shined
Apple is entering perilous times. Many who love Apple will simply not be able to afford them and will go buy Windows machines or do without

You have got to be kidding me. That's literally a drop in the bucket compared to Apple sales.

Google does things right. They rarely screw up

Remember that whole video purchase fiasco? Google Catalog? Google voice search by telephone? Google Coupons? Google Answers?

Google screws up all the time, but it's good. Their people get to work in personal projects that Google has no problem putting on line to see if they fly, which probably accounts for a good number of their failures.
