"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Polly, thank you so much for checking back in and giving us what information you can. So good that you and your sister can give each other comfort while you wait for those results. Know that is very stressful.... sort of ‘knowing’ but hoping to be wrong. You’re still in our prayers. So sorry about your dear friend’s husband now on top of worrying about your sister.

The inquisitive look on that kitten’s face is precious! Great captioning!

That was quite a voice coming from that darling little girl. I should check out her page on My Space. Would I just google Skylyn? I may try that tomorrow. You were lucky to find that. I would love to transfer my VCRs over to DVDs. I bet my son could do that BUT I ask for so much...LOL~~ I'm glad you enjoyed it, Jaycee. It was actually easier than I thought to transfer that VHS tape to DVD - but I did mess up a few times learning how to do it! LOL

I will be so happy when one fine day you will get on here and tell us that AT&T has finally come through! We will have a party that day! And make a chocolate cake (like that one you showed yesterday.) What a cake. I wouldnt make it because I cant stand frosting that you have to beat that long. I have a candy recipe and I have to stand and stir for about 35 minutes while it cooks. It has to be just right after cooling and stirring to put out on wax paper with a teaspoon. I dont like to fix it because I have had a couple of failures...but many successes. A might long post...sorry! Pinging Kitty because she is in the same boat I'm in with regards to DSL and AT&T not available out in a less populated area (the boonies! LOL). Kitty, I've checked into satellite internet, and you have echoed the reasons I am not interested in getting it. At least, dialup is dependable, and I've learned to live with it. :)
Jaycee, I know exactly what you mean about beating frostings and candies so long. Not for me. I can do some desserts that are time-consuming, but watching and stirring candy to a certain temperature and then beating by hand for 30 minutes isn't one of them. :)

All Too Familiar
The road was dirt and winding, amid the elms and oaks
where old friends and I would walk and tell those jokes
To the wooden bridge over the creek, to swim and play
and to rest upon the bank to have a tale to impart I say
Now the bridge is gone, and most of the friends as well
And time flowed on and the rest is easy to finally tell
Someday soon it all will be gone, even in memory
like the waters of the creek, all will pass on out to sea
Changes come and memories go, over and over you see
So worry not and relax my friend thats just how its to be

I did read Kitty's post about her situation also! Guess we who have this fast speed just can't imagine how it is without it. I should know if anyone does. When I was first on dial-up, I use to complain all the time about the slowness. And one day 'my computer son' came up and said "Mama, how do you stand this dial-up....we've got to get you changed over." And we did....and I was in shock when I first used the faster speed. So I shouldn't forget HOW IT WAS! Not fun, for sure! Sending smiley daisies for you two!
Gotta get busy for a while! ~smile~

the miracle of a seed ...
A miracle takes place with a seed, whether it is a tree, a plant, a baby,a rose, grass,or a whale, from a tiny seed an invisible process occurs, we take it for granted and seldom realize the wonder of it
God surrounds us with miracle processes and often we do not see or notice them. From a small acorn a mighty oak grows. Where does it come from? Our body heals cuts, broken bones, injuries, doctors can sew them up or replace the positions, but it is God that does the healing. Our bodies are miracle processes.
Let us thank God for His love and mercy. Forgive us our disobedience and convict our hearts of being children of God. You are our life, our hope, our salvation. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Thank you for those inspiring words, Geologist!
Seeds are a miracle. You can look at a seed under a microscope and it is just a hard mass - but give it the nutrition, water and light it needs, and it opens up and blooms into incredible beauty.
I taught my children that every thing that comes from a seed should be admired, (including us), and God be thanked.
