Your points seem internally inconsistent. You are a “proponent” of that which leads to “nonsense”?

The "nonsense" is the fact this is even in the news. I am a proponent of open carry, but the local sheriff does not agree with me. Until I can elect a sheriff that does agree with me, I am bound by my CCW permit issue by him, which states I can only carry a pistol concealed, better? (did not mean to be confusing)

Since her sheriff revoked her permit, which mine can too if he wants, I assume she was also supposed to be carrying concealed.

As with most news stories these days, it does not report all the facts, just the ones that get the headlines.

marktwain replies: The sheriff acted improperly, and Melanie Hain had her permit restored by a judge. You can read more at the following link:

You could have said the same thing about Rosa Parks riding in the front of the bus. I don’t let hand-wringing journalists dictate my principles.

Huh? Your Sheriff writes the laws where you live?

Her (illegally revoked) permit would apply only to the ability to carry concealed. there is no open carry permit in any state in the union that I’m aware of.

And therein is the problem. Your assumption is incorrect.

Pennsylvania is an Open Carry state. One does not need ANY permit to openly carry a handgun. Oddly, one does need a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

The woman in question was arrested for exercising her 2nd amendment right to carry a weapon.

The only person who broke the law was the LEO who decided that he could deprive a Pennsyvanian citizen of her rights.

I applaud this woman. And I suggest you familiarize yourself with the laws of Pennsylvania before asking "what part of CCW she doesn't understand." You might even read the article before asking where she lives.
