The "nonsense" is the fact this is even in the news. I am a proponent of open carry, but the local sheriff does not agree with me. Until I can elect a sheriff that does agree with me, I am bound by my CCW permit issue by him, which states I can only carry a pistol concealed, better? (did not mean to be confusing)
Since her sheriff revoked her permit, which mine can too if he wants, I assume she was also supposed to be carrying concealed.
As with most news stories these days, it does not report all the facts, just the ones that get the headlines.

Her (illegally revoked) permit would apply only to the ability to carry concealed. there is no open carry permit in any state in the union that I’m aware of.
