LEBANON PA--Some people have called Meleanie Hain a courageous defender of the Second Amendment. Others have referred to her in online forums as an "idiot" for taking her gun to her 5-year-old daughter's soccer game in Lebanon in September. Hain said she is "just a mom who happens to carry a gun ... everywhere."

Only in America, I love this country. But for the gun experts, isnt it dangerous to wear a gun in the open like this? Couldnt someone just take it from behind you?
If you're half deaf.

“Is this the little girl whose Mom had a Missing Children Organization in her home after Morgan went missing, and HGTV or some TV show rebuilt her house?”
Could be, but that hadn't happened the last time I visited there, several years after Morgan's abduction. She is a couple of years older than my son, and a couple more years older than my oldest daughter. MIL still has a Morgan Nick poster in the back window of her van, and she's traveled all over the country with it. I think she would have graduated high school this past year, or maybe it's this year...
At least John Walsh knows what happened to his son. I think sitting and wondering would be even worse.
What I want to see around this country is in a crowd of 100 people, at least 90 would be carrying, and at least half of those openly carrying. That would calm down a lot of the stupid crap we're seeing in the news. A lot fewer of the rabid ones would dare stick their noses out of their dens, too.
To cross-link to another thread, what would have happened if 12 or 13 of the people at that Christmas party had been carrying when Pardo walked in?

The little girl in the last photo appears to have a weapon pointed at her hoo-hoo. Not a good idea.

At least I could hope he wouldn't have.
God Bless America!!!

Since her sheriff revoked her permit, which mine can too if he wants, I assume she was also supposed to be carrying concealed.
And therein is the problem. Your assumption is incorrect.
Pennsylvania is an Open Carry state. One does not need ANY permit to openly carry a handgun. Oddly, one does need a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
The woman in question was arrested for exercising her 2nd amendment right to carry a weapon.
The only person who broke the law was the LEO who decided that he could deprive a Pennsyvanian citizen of her rights.
I applaud this woman. And I suggest you familiarize yourself with the laws of Pennsylvania before asking "what part of CCW she doesn't understand." You might even read the article before asking where she lives.

So far, everyone in my supposed "open carry" state who does try it, goes to jail and has to hire a lawyer. Please go to your local mall wearing your shoot'en iron exposed and see what happens. If you have the right, go for it.
I'm betting her lawsuit goes nowhere. I wish it would, but I doubt it.
We live in a paranoid world. I'll keep mine concealed. Once again, I'll keep my fight in the voting booth.

Too bad that local officials act that way. A similar problem exists in many states. I suspect some like minded people will organize and create a test case that forces local officials to follow the law. It has happened in a number of states already.
Eventually it will happen in Alabama.

Where does this woman live that allows open carry?
I see I'm late but the article says PA........
FWIW, here in Michigan open carry is legal too without permit................If you want to conceal it then you must have a CPL.......

Thats why my state says, it must be concealed if carried.
I have checked your home page and your flag indicates you are a resident of Alabama. If that is correct then I offer that you are totally ignorant of your own state laws concerning "open carry" of firearms.
Do yourself a favor and educate yourself on your own state's laws concerning firearms ownership and the right to carry openly.

Where does this woman live that allows open carry? Wisconsin is one of the last two states that deny CCW permits, much to our shame. They do however, allow open carry. In theory at least, I suspect that if you tried to exercise that right, "Officer Friendly" would find some reason for you to accompany him back to the station house. Disorderly conduct, and creating a public nuisance come to mind.
In fact we have several hundred thousand armed citizens beating the bushes every Fall, searching for the illusive Whitetail deer. Considering the number of people involved there is remarkably little collateral damage.

GtG

If you want to go to jail to prove a point, go for it.

Sorry Bud, I was responding to the following comment made by someone I thought was you.

Evidently I responded to the wrong poster who made the above comment out of ignorance, so please accept my apology.

The girl in the last photo needs to learn how to point a gun properly.
That is about as unsexy as it gets.

You have got to be kidding me.
I have a CCW, but in no way do I believe that 90% of the population at large has the judgement, temperament and disposition to carry a gun. To believe otherwise is naive beyond belief. Not everyone should carry a gun; heck, not everyone should shoot a gun.
