Koalas in danger of extinction as rising carbon levels poison eucalyptus trees

A government scientist has warned that climate change, and specifically the rising levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, is pushing up toxins and lowering nutrients in eucalyptus leaves.

Dr Dan Lunney, of the New South Wales Department of Environment and Climate Change, said the trend would force koalas out of trees and on to the ground to search for food, putting them in danger.

"What currently may be good koala habitats will become very marginal habitats," he said. "This means koalas have to change trees more often to get to the leaves they need.

"As koalas change trees they have to walk across the ground, if they walk across the ground they are vulnerable to dogs and if there are roads in the middle they are vulnerable to cars as well."

ROTFLMAO! Gimme a break! Eucalyptus Trees grow like WEEDS over here in New Zealand. They grow even better in Oz.

This has got to be a joke!

That’s how insidious global warming is...it targets the cute animals first.

Apparently, slugs and spiders have nothing to fear from it.

It is a joke. Aside from being furry and cute, it cant do jack squat once it reaches the ground because of “climate change”. Oh dear, looks like humans have killed the Koala Bear due to CO2, everyone get a rope and hang themselves..

Uh, all green plants thrive on increased CO2 levels.

So, he’s saying the increased CO2, which trees take in, will cause there to be less nutrients (which come out of the ground) and more toxins (which CO2 isn’t one to a tree) and the stupid rodents in the trees will have to supposedly leave the trees for food, to which they pretty much only eat the trees they’re supposed to flee?

Ok, I /need/ whatever this guy is smoking, as I have a medical need trying to follow that reasoning.

Drinking...smoking...whatever. You really have to have some profound lack of intellect to believe that CO2 is toxic to plants.

Or even rats. When was the last time they ever talked about that?

Each day I believe more and more that it is indeed a conspiracy of “Dunces” intent on bringing socialism to America and a single world wide government body.
This is their tool to achieve it.
I once giggled at people who believed this as members of the tinfoil hat brigade. I no longer laugh at them.

Too bad mother nature isn’t cooperating....

Environmentalism is a cult and a conspiracy that makes Mormonism and Freemasonry look mainstream and boring by comparison.

For nine years the Green Party were the stooges that kept Helen Clark’s Labor party clinging to power by its fingernails here in NZ.
