ROTFLMAO! Gimme a break! Eucalyptus Trees grow like WEEDS over here in New Zealand. They grow even better in Oz.

This has got to be a joke!

That’s how insidious global warming is...it targets the cute animals first.

Apparently, slugs and spiders have nothing to fear from it.

Uh, all green plants thrive on increased CO2 levels.

So, he’s saying the increased CO2, which trees take in, will cause there to be less nutrients (which come out of the ground) and more toxins (which CO2 isn’t one to a tree) and the stupid rodents in the trees will have to supposedly leave the trees for food, to which they pretty much only eat the trees they’re supposed to flee?

Ok, I /need/ whatever this guy is smoking, as I have a medical need trying to follow that reasoning.

Someone’s been spending to much time in eucalyptus trees.

“A government scientist has warned..”

That’s where the problem lies — the government scientist who’s findings will be based on political considerations.

Try starting some forest fires.

Eucalyptus trees have dotted the Australian landscape for millions of years, and today they are probably the most common trees on the continent. Eucalyptus, able to survive poor soil, dry spells, and fire, is hardy enough to have spread throughout much of the land and take a central place in the lives of the forest's wildlife.

Eucalyptus trees are so well adapted to forest fires that a conflagration actually causes them to flourish. Soon after a fire dies out, chemical changes triggered by the flames' heat cause new buds to shoot out of the trees. The fire's hot winds can also help distribute eucalyptus seeds, sowing new tree colonies far and wide and eventually providing new homes for kookaburras.

No, they haven't lost their minds. It's a combination of leftists lying AND depending on the complete scientific illiteracy of the media (and the media's complete abandonment of actually checking on facts, since the lies presented represent the media's world view). And they depend on the scientific illiteracy of those who consume the media.

CO2 IS toxic... To animals in high concentrations. However, we're nowhere near those levels of concentration in the atmosphere. But higher levels of CO2 are quite "nutritious" for those that consume it... Like plants and trees!

It's really amazing how the reporter can't seem to grasp grade school biology.

A government scientist has warned that climate change, and specifically the rising levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, is pushing up toxins and lowering nutrients in eucalyptus leaves.

It's insulting to science to refer to these PC brainwashed idiots as "scientist". And how "convenient" that he chose a terrible cute little animal. Was Bambi not available?

Dr Dan Lunney, of the New South Wales Department of Environment and Climate Change, said the trend would force koalas out of trees and on to the ground to search for food, putting them in danger.
"the fact that the koala is so darned cuddly looking isn't the reason I chose that particular species to make unfounded claims. Honest."
