Scanning the first 50 I saw no serious replies. So here goes:
No: A capital letter takes the same number of bits to specify as a lower case letter (7, plus a parity bit that doesn’t get used, so 8 sort of), but it’s considered rude, as it’s the online equivalent of shouting.
(I suppose in diplomat speak an exchange of posts all in all caps would be described as a ‘frank exchange of views’.)
SO DON’T DO IT!

"Since time here on the home planet is defined by the relative location of the earth and the sun would time even exist in the asteroid belt?" Yes. In a multitude of ways.
It will always be "time to make the donuts."
You will know when it is "time to walk the dog."
So too, you will know when it is time to go to bed.
It's for that reason that we brought our time with us. Each separate Habitat has its own time. In combination, they are like individual continents on a miniature world.
That allows us to maintain our 24/7 watchfulness for danger, which is rampant out here.
But man must always take his time with him. How long will this take to heat up? When should I fire the rocket? Timing will be a very critical task, now and always.
So as you prepare to leave your home world, take care that you plan for all your needs.
Take your time.

Happy January, one and all! We watched the expanded version of “1776” (lots of additional dialogue and a complete new song-and-dance number) and went to bed around 11, Eastern Standard. Up about 7:30, otherwise known as “time to let the dog out and change the diaper before cries of ‘I did a puddle!’ arise.”
Church at 10:00 this morning. If some of the parties don’t get up soon, they won’t get to eat before we go.

Okay, you have my permission to toss out your 2008 calendars, as they can’t be used again until 2036, or 2064, or 2092.
Now, this new year’s calendar for 2009 will prove to be very useful, because it can be put up again in 2015, 2026, 2037, 2043, 2054, 2065, 2071, 2082, 2093, and 2099.
So take good care of it.

Also, make note: The year 2100 will NOT be a leap year. Don’t say you weren’t told.

Hi, Dusty! Happy New Year!
Please clean up after yourself, or the Dwarves, Zombies and/or Dust Bunnies will use your leavings for your next dinner. They are truly clever creatures!

"Did you take advantage of the leap-second? I appreciated the extra sleep." I can assure you, I gloried and exulted in it. I did not, however, write a poem.

I’m SHOCKED!!!
Happy New Year!
The fireworks woke me up at midnight, so I watched the Space Needle show in high definition through half closed eyes. No glitches this year that I could detect, but there was a rather abrupt ending. I didn’t see a big finale.
The dog was not amused by the fireworks, which started popping off at 8:00. Never mind that fireworks ordnance, just light up!
