"Funnyman" is apparently synonymous with "box office poison"... the Sun loves to take wild rumors and run with them, especially when it comes to Hollywood. I hope this is one of them

When you said “ EDDIE “, I thought you meant Eddie Haskell.
Now, that would’ve been truly inspired casting !

Is this a sick joke?
And Shia LaBeouf as Robin?
What's next? Arnold as Mr. Freeze and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy?

Rachel Weisz as Catwoman? Way to make Eartha Kitt look good!

I read a lot of comic books growing up in the 60's. Batman was my favorite. The recent "Dark Knight" was awesome and the closest rendition to the original Batman ever. The real Batman is a high-tech vigilante. Bringing Eddie Murphy into this storyline morphs it into SNL. Rats!

Who would have thought before that Heath Ledger would be a good Joker? That said, the probably false rumor that Eddie Murphy would be the Riddler is cringeworthy.
I thought they were setting up Joshua Harto as the Riddler since they kept calling him "Mister Reese" (mysteries).

This guy is way overdue for a movie that is at least bearable. Everything he’s touched since probably the first Hollywood Cop movie has sucked a lot

I can live with getting to see Christian Bale kick Eddie’s overrated ass.

Don’t know or care if it’s true, but compare Murphy’s laugh to Gorshin’s classic Riddler.

I remember when Heath got the part for the Joker and everyone freaked. Heath’s Joker was awesome creepy.
Don’t expect good things like that to happen again though, afraid the new franchise is going the way of the old franchise.

Batman pretty much was a British takeover but it took a crappy franchise and breathed new life into it. After the crap with libtard Clooney, Val Kilmer sucked pretty bad and the first one was not much better.
The Christian Bale Batman’s have been excellent. Bale is Welsh, Oldman, Caine & the director are English and it has been outstanding.
Murphy is a AssClown and the the kiss of death. he mugs for the camera too much. They need a serious actor and not Samuel Jackson either. I am not sure who but Don Cheadle might have been better. Bale has a seriousness and menace as does ciane and oldman with the seriousness. Murphy will ruin it.

If this is true, then the franchise has returned to the campiness crap that doomed the first series. I would like to see someone dark play the Riddler, if there’s going to be a black person then make it Terrance Howard or Samuel L. Jackson.
To: swordfishtrombone
I actually think Murphy may be a very good Riddler. This choice is not unlike Robin Williams going against type and playing the killer in Insomnia, which Chris Nolan also directed.
