I stumbled upon this today on YouTube. A dead whale is too big to bury. It is rotting and stinking. I know, let's try dynamite!

So, when Oprah finally checks out, we know NOT to call a local demolition crew.

When I was assigned to a Readiness Group in First Army, I was part of a team that traveled to Cp. Rilea in Oregon to assist members of Fifth Army in setting up some training for reservists and national guardsmen deploying to Bosnia.
One of the Oregon National Guard Officers I met was a Lieutenant Colonel who as an engineer lieutenant, actually helped blow that whale.

Fast forward to several decades after this attempt...
And in national news, known leftist propagandist Michael Moore died today of at least thirty artery blockages, believed to be a Guiness World Record. Since his body couldn't biodegrade, funeral officials decided to set dyanmite to his body, causing pieces of fat and cholesterol to land as far away as Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the world headquarters of Krispy Kreme.

May seem like a dumb idea in retrospect, but I can’t blame the officials.
I feel sorry for the whale. Yeah, it’s nuts, but... I do.

Yep. Actually I was there when we went through the reorganization from Readiness groups to Training Support Battalions, Brigades and Divisions. I ETS’d from there, and signed into my last unit wearing the FUSA patch, and cleared wearing the 78th Div.
