I love the second one - it shows the bird’s coloration really well.

Mornin’!
Herons always remind me of rich blondes—gorgeous, but total airheads! I still love to watch them—the birds, I mean. :)

Terrific pics.
Haven’t seen you around in a while. Was thinking about you the other day.
Have you been around and I just missed your posts?

I saw the photos on your last post and so far they have all been very good. I hope you continue these posts as I have really enjoyed them. Are you the “otter” to whom these photos are credited?

What a beautiful "pond goose." My son labeled Great Blue Herons pond geese when he was younger and didn't know the official names. They're beautiful birds. Once rainy week a big puddle formed between our yard and the neighbor's yard. A pond goose was flying over and decided to stop and get a snack. He landed at one end, walked down the middle of the small pond, turned, and walked back. He kept peering down, looking from one side to the other. When he reached the side where he landed, he stretched out his wings and went on his way. It was gorgeous.

Your body may have age issues but mentally, what 25 or 30? Nice shots thanks for sharing. My Mom lived on a canal in Ft Myers for 35 years. Loved to visit and watch the birds fishing on the canal. Had to move her closer to the rest of us due to age related issues. She misses the action on the canal as well.

Glad to hear you’re on the mend.
Try my routine.
First thing I do in the morning is reach for the cold mirror on the nightstand and stick it under my nose.
If I see condensation, I get up. :)

“...gorgeous, but total airheads!”
Lol! Though IMHO, they have it all over the rich blondes, in both looks AND brains ;)
I am sure I have told SS this story before, but years ago, DH used to grab his mullet net and head for Salt Run, with me and the little ones in tow. It was a rare morning when we were NOT visited by a big ol’ Heron or two, who came looking for a little easy pickings courtesy of Dad’s bucket, laughing still. They reminded me of Wimpy, from the old Popeye cartoons, “I will gladly pay you Tuesday...” Lol.
God bless,
Tatt

I love the birds. I had a couple of wax leaf legustrums in my yard years ago, and every year the cedar waxwings migrated through when the berries were ripe. When they get in an eating frenzy, they fill up on berries and fly to another tree to defecate. I learned after the first year to park my car in front of the neighbor’s house. (The garage was otherwise occupied.} Those rascals could leave a car with purple measles in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.
