Bettie Page, the 1950s pinup credited with helping to spark the next decade's sexual revolution, died in Los Angeles yesterday from pneumonia. She was 85.

In an interview published in Playboy magazine in 2007, Page expressed mixed feelings about her achievements. "When I turned my life over to the lord Jesus I was ashamed of having posed in the nude," she said. "But now, most of the money I've got is because I posed in the nude. So I'm not ashamed of it now. But I still don't understand it."

Thank you gentlemen. I was in (or just got out of) the Navy when she was in her heyday. I scandalized my mom and sister by having Bettie's pics up on the wall of my room. She WAS one Helluva hottie and I know she permeated a lot of juvenile - and not so juvenile - minds.
