The movie looks to be "humans as the problem".
The gayish liberal alien is here to threaten humans, if we don't change our eco-ways.
Go green ... or ye shall all be vaporized! (yawn)
Save your money.
I doubt that it will cover production costs.
New movie about 0bama?
Dammed glad I read this.
I seriously doubt I would have went to see it. The previews looked pretty well gay.
Now I know not to throw away money renting it.
Thanks for the heads up.
This movie looks SO stupid!! I hope it flops big time! I hope this kills Keanu’s career for good! Too bad for hottie Connelly, though.
Of course, if it does flop, they’ll still never figure out that we don’t like preachy environmental movies.
I was looking forward to the remake but when I found out Klatu was a friggin tree hugger and the ship was a non pollutant bio-membrane dimension flipper.....well, I almost flipped.
Guess I have to wait to see the new Star Trek movie before going to the movies.
The original 1951 film carried a timely anti-nuclear message, but this film wouldn't dare offend anyone by even mentioning the phrase "global warming." - Katey Rich Although there is an admirable attempt to stay true to the higher aspirations of the high-class source material, the new effort is undermined by the need to fashion itself as a crowd-pleasing blockbuster, loaded with exciting special effects. - Steve Biodrowski Judging by Derrickson's bland, poorly executed version, there was no urgent reason to remake Robert ise's 1951 sci-fi classic. - Emanuel Levy It really is the perfect "family" holiday thriller (the edgy side of Christmas) and carries a message that is so perfectly fine-tuned to our problems of today it might actually make you feel a little guilty. - Brad Miska This Earth could have moved if they had embraced the heart of Starman. Too bad they settled for a half-hearted Independence Day. - Roger Moore

There has been an effort made to portray this as Ray Bradbury’s sequel. Ray was hired decades ago to write a treatment for a sequel and in 1981 he turned in a 50 page outline.
If Fox has made the film from that script with no further input from Mr. Bradbury, who is still alive, then they are making claims about a work that are unjustified.
Anyone know the deal here?
There should be laws about not redoing certain movies. This movie is a classic. Probably one of the most important scifi films ever made.
Classic my ass.
The movie is only polling at 38% on Rotten Tomatoes. I was kind of looking forward to the remake of the old classic SciFi thriller.
Just checked again....... 23% now
Besides, if they just *had* to do an 'enviro-conscious' sci-fi flick, why not just remake Silent Running?
I came to the same conclusion from the trailers on TV and at the movies.
Left-wing trash.
Boycott this crap and all Hollywood movies.
