Don’t fall for the bait and switch (evos fail to distinguish between adaptation and evolution)

Next time someone says that evolution is an observed scientific fact make sure you get them to clearly define what they are talking about.

They will almost certainly be referring to adaptation but want you to believe they have proved evolution...

If most Americans are descended from Europeans, how come there are still Europeans?

They have corrupted science and made it into forensics.

Used to be science included taking data and recording observations under controlled conditions.

Now they find fossils in the ground and assert that it is equivalent to taking data under controlled conditions.

The other aspect is that they changed the concept of species from the idea that two species were distinct if they could not reproduce to the mushy concept of animals which supposedly ‘choose not to reproduce with each other’.

No wonder school kids think it’s okay to believe that 2+2 can equal 5. If you change the requirements enough then you can always make the data fit your hypothesis.

Oh, puh-leeze. This attempt to create an ad hoc distinction for the purpose of saying "the evidence doesn't count" is exactly what Slick Willie's defenders did ten years ago.

ROFL...that's the best you've got? So in your mind evolution is simply a matter of changing citizenship? Interesting.

Thank you!! I have argued for YEARS how I did understand adaption, but did not understand evolution. Two species mating at the broad end of the species does not make a NEW one entirely!

Now that being said, I don’t believe God poofed an elephant here either. But I know I don’t buy either theory.

Or, if you want to use another terminology, you should always distinguish between the General Theory of Evolution and Intraspecies Evolution.

Animals do evolve to suit their environment, and change within species can be observed everywhere. But evolution from one species to another has never been observed. Nor can it be deduced with certainty from the fossil evidence.

So, you can observe finches growing longer beaks, but you can’t observe finches turning into seagulls.

Oh I do love Mr. Carlin. He might have been a liberal, but he was a brilliant one and made me laugh.

In biology, evolution is change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. These changes are caused by a combination of three main processes: variation, reproduction, and selection. Genes that are passed on to an organism's offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution.

Apparently by referring to adaptation as something totally different they can agree with the science behind evolution but somehow continue the we're right argument. Whatever floats your boat.

>>If most Americans are descended from Europeans, how come there are still Europeans?<<

For starters, as an american I am still “european”. If I went back there and dressed like them I would be mistaken for one of them.

Not quite true with apes. Jokes not withstanding...
