Obviously......
And it has nothing to do with animals on farms.....
Still, it was a three-way tie, not a head-to-head........
I'm rarely right....
Argue dammit!! Do it!! Do it now!! &*@$%@%!!
Only TWO teams were in consideration for the title game from the Big 12... two.. not three.
No, the fact is that this game was the one good win that Tech had all year. Nebraska took them to OT in Lubbuck. They almost lost to Baylor in Lubbock. They got humiliated in Norman. They had two tough games this year, and they got lucky against Texas. No team can give up 60+ points in a game and still consider themselves relevant.
Congratulations to Tech, you had one big win this year. Face it, Tech will have at least three losses next year, book it.
Pathetic isn’t it? Tim and the spackle need to face the fact that if Tech hadn’t beaten them they would be playing in the national championship game. I would have been nice about it but like typical ut fans, they make it impossible
And hopefully TAMU won’t beat you again like they did last year and the year before
Yup, the universe is back to normal now by 40 points, which is why I equate tis year's the Tech loss on about the same level. An aberration.
One lousy win does not mean that Tech is on the same level as UT and OU. You can believe it all you want, but it will not make it true. Now, if Tech can ever have a year when they beat both OU and UT, I will give them their props. It has never happened.
You'll know that they're there when they quit storming the field either time they beat either OU or Texas. That will mean it's not such a shock.
You need to face the fact that you're artificial sense of Tech having arrived was completely shattered on the field in Norman. That's the beauty of being a UT fan, while they may lose their share of games, getting humiliated on the field on the scale of that OU game may happen once every 10 years or so. Tech will be back to their typcal 7 to 9 win seasons again, which is nothing to scoff at.
I would have been nice about it but like typical ut fans, they make it impossible
Oh, I thought you were...
See, spack, that's the difference in what I'm talking about. Texas Tech's program, history, tradition, blah, blah, blah, isn't at the level of UT or OU. Never said it was. You had a 75 year head start. Congratulations on being the Great God of Texas Higher Education.
However, this year, UT, OU, and Tech all tied for the Big XII South Division lead. Denegrating Tech's season as "one lousy win" is myopic at best, pathetic at worst. I'll say it again - You're starting to sound like Aggie.
Then all of the Tech fans should quit acting like it is. And until it is, if someone has to be picked as the flash in the pan, it will be Tech.
Denegrating Tech's season as "one lousy win" is myopic at best, pathetic at worst.
It's merely the truth. Next season will prove it out. Trips to Austin, Lincoln and Stillwater and OU coming in could easily mark 3 to 4 losses, and after the Baylor game in Lubbock I wouldn't write off the trip to Waco as an easy win for Tech.
This year was a nice setup for Tech, all of their somewhat tough games were at home with the exception of one, and we saw how that turned out.
Sorry, merely stating facts. Combine all of that with the fact that Harrell is gone, Crab is likely gone, most of the OL is gone, Woods is gone, and there's no guarantee on Leach being around next year...
There is no “magic number”. I’m just a bit ticked that for two straight weeks, Texas got jumped in the BCS when there really was no reason for them to get jumped. The voters and computers didn’t seem to think that that loss to Tech mattered all that much at first (otherwise Oklahoma would have jumped Texas and stayed ahead in the BCS standings released just after the loss and in the following weeks). Instead, Oklahoma jumped Texas only after Texas had beaten their second biggest rival by 40 points! What magic number should Texas have put on A&M to stay ahead of Oklahoma?
Mark, we had a great season - and I enjoyed sharing it with you! Raider Power!
You seem not to agree with my comments that a one second loss or a 40 point loss still equal a loss. Sure one is a blowout, much like your win over A&M this year, but it still only counts as one win for the year, just as your loss to Texas Tech counts as a loss.
But you can count on Mack changing the rules for next year so he can politic more if this happens again.
I would never make fun of Tech. I’ll just hate them forever.:) A win is a win, a loss a loss. It has been a tough couple of weeks to be a ‘Horns fan, but I also realize it’s dumb to send you guys to the Cotton Bowl. If there are three teams from one conference that are good enough to be in the BCS, why should all three not be there?
And I'm the hatefule one? Crikey.. don't think I ever called you a name, just stated opinions about football teams. I think you've been away from Texas too long, you're starting to act like you're from PA.
Feel free to point out where I attacked anyone, I simply stated facts and opinions. You need to look in the mirror before you throw it around.
And btw, I prefer to say Merry Christmas, and I wish you a good one.
Your “joking” must be very subtle.
Unfortunately my initial evaluation turns out to have been fairly accurate. Between Tech and OSU, and the typical Big Game Bob performance that is upcoming, the Big 12 is looking bad at the moment. At least Missouri, KU and NU won their games. Hopefully UT can handle OSU as anticipated and salvage some respectability.
Just to pre-empt the attack, again I am just stating my own opinions, not attacking or insulting anyone. Feel free to continue to call me names, however.
Tech beat the #1 ranked team in the country, and then we were beaten by one of the two teams playing for the national championship and the only team to defeat Florida -so all in all we enjoyed our season.
Good luck in the Fiesta Bowl.
