Hi, could someone give a glimpse on my introduction of my thesis, please? I'm not english speaker, and I really want to know whether match your appetite or not. If somewhere are improvable, please give your suggestion. Thanks!
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major endocrine disorder which affects approximately 5% of the worlds population. It has a significant impact on the health, quality of life, and life expectancy of patients, as well as on the health care system. Diabetes mellitus is divided into two major categories: type 1 diabetes (formerly known as insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, or IDDM), and type 2 diabetes (formerly known as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, or NIDDM). In particular, the most common, accounting for 90% of patients is type 2 diabetes. The cause of type 2 diabetes is a combination of resistance to insulin action and an inadequate compensatory insulin-secretory response. In the past, several studies have been carried out on the potential health effects of soy and soy isoflavones in lowering risk of certain diseases, such as breast cancer and intestinal cancer. Soy intake may improve blood lipid levels in humans and animals and decrease arterial fatty streaks in animals, therefore reducing the risk of developing atherosclerosis. Isoflavones, as the main hypolipidemic agent in soy, was focused on their antioxidative and mild estrogenic activity by considerable research. It also said isoflavone has a role in lowering cholesterol levels. Genistein is one of the main isoflavinoid found in soy beans and is a strong antioxidant. Agakong, a wild soybean which was bred by means of interspecific cross breeding between Eunhakong (Glycine max) and KLG10084 (Glycine soja), has a green seed-coat color and a very small size. Generally, small seed-sized soybeans have good seed vigor, high hypocotyl elongation, and a high sprout yield. Recent study reported that the total isoflavone contents (9,684.8 μg/g) of Agakong was two or three times more than the proportion of Eunhakong and KLG10084. Agakong3, which was enhanced from Agakong, are expected has a much higher content of total isoflavone comparing to Agakong. In this study, the possible anti-diabetic effects of Agakong3, in db/db mice have been evaluated.
We do have a lot of trolls. We long-time FReepers now tend to zot first and ask questions later. A newbie does have to come here with thick skin. However, this didn’t seem to fall into the category of trollish behavior.
Me say you just flunked my sixth-grade grammar class.
And I just flunked my weekly spelling test.
ellaborate = elaborate
Hm...a bit suspicious here. The introduction from the poster is in broken English, but the introduction to the thesis is of much-higher quality. Fly in the ointment in my opinion.
pepe234: what is you native language?
I agree. I have also seen the activity of some fairly OBVIOUS trolls....but this seemed different. This may not be the best place to receive such help, but it IS true that many students are agonizing over final papers at this time.
With the name *Pepe* it may be “el español.”
The “thesis” looks like a cut and paste to me.
what...the...hell...is...happening...to...this...site..?
Ya’ think? I just think it is some troll trying to waste everyone’s time. Probaby a couple of DUers (takes two of them to think up anything) sitting in a small loft in New York yukking it up at how peope are actually responding to their cries for help. Liberals, of course, because liberals are always calling for help.
Sum, Manduco, ergo Bumbulum.
All of your thesis are belong to me!
IF people try to honestly help, it is never a waste of time. In the long run, it is good. IF it was a post from a troll, in the long run, that person will receive justice as well.
Honest people also need help from time to time. I choose to give the benefit of the doubt until I have evidence to the contrary.
If you have to ask, big... you need way more than one beer!
I've lectored, translated, and/or edited many a Master's Thesis or Doctoral Dissertation by students whose first language was not English. You mustn't imagine that such papers are written from scratch. Someone (was it Bierce?) compared it to transferring bones from one graveyard into another. So I wouldn't black-ball pepe on account of that (though the phrasing of his request for aid is piss-poor.)
On the other hand, I doubt that pepe will ever post an article or submit a comment with political content here at this site. I'd call his registering himself with FR yesterday merely in order to solicit this kind of advise is a blatant abuse of our hospitality. He's simply conveniencing himself at our expense. I'd much rather he go to DU and waste their time!
That he should solicit assistance from total strangers and even provide a chunk of his thesis where it will be preserved for all time is ludicrous.
This is not strictly trollish behavior, but it is borish behavior.
Regards,
Pepe,
Your university probably has a service to help with this. Be sure to ask your advisor or your dean’s office for a recommendation.
Also some professional societies offer free editing services to grad students. Do you belong to any such society?
If you can afford it, you can always find a native english speaker to edit your manuscript for a couple dollars a page or less.
Already aware of this....but ...thanks.
Up Yours, Troll!
