Natalie Portman turned down the chance to play a nun opposite movie great Meryl Streep in Doubt - because she can't get her head around celibacy.
The actress was at one point very interested in the movie adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's hit play - but she turned the part down because she couldn't see herself as a lifelong virgin.

The Bible does not say "Have sex all you want".
Jesus was called to a completely different life than the rest of us. Jesus was born of a virgin and he never had sex I am sure. Although sex is not a sin it does mark you and for whatever reason God did not want Jesus to live as a married man and there was no other way he could have had sex since he had to be a perfect sacrifice.
But what did Jesus say on the subject and what did St. Paul say as well?

Yep, Eastman was still doing supporting roles on TV at the same age she had starred in a dozen films.
The point is, politics aside, she is a fine actress. Any indie producer would give an arm to find the 'next Natalie Portman.'
Natalie, shut up....and get those high beams covered. There are some things in Wal-Mart that would just do the trick. They’re adhesive. Buy and extra pair and save one for your mouth. Also, wash your hair before photo ops.
he had to be a perfect sacrifice
And what of those who wish to follow Christ's command to "be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt. 5:48)? And of those who wish to to present their bodies as "a living sacrifice" (Rom. 12, see also Heb 13:15-16, 1 Pet. 2:5, 2 Tim. 2:4)? They can never achieve the same level of perfection, but can they be prevented from trying?
Actually Paul does say something pretty close to have all the sex you want. He goes on to say that the man’s body does not belong to him but to his wife and vice-versa. He also says to not deny yourself from each other so you will not burn with desire. It sounds like Paul understands sex very well and approves of it.
Of course he is speaking of married people.
Well, Portman, like most actresses these days, is probably a lifelong SLUT.
Yes, but only during presidential elections, so that they can vote for Democrats.
You must not have seen the three awful Star Wars prequel movies.
I am surprised Obama didn’t name her as part as his national security team since she did lead the Republic in the battle of Naboo against the Trade Federation.
She was actually very tactful and considerate in giving that excuse. In an effort to put it nicely myself, for her to play such a part would be like playing the part of an ancient Aztec or Egyptian queen. ...big no-no.
Also, Matthew 19:10 His disciples say unto him: If the case of a man with his wife be so, it is not expedient to marry. Who said to them: All men take not this word, but they to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mothers womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take, let him take it.
Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. And again, he reiterates:
Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.
Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord's mercy is trustworthy. Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are. Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife. But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.
What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.
I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairshow he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this worldhow he can please his wife and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord's affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this worldhow she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.
If anyone thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if she is getting along in years and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married. But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virginthis man also does the right thing. So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does even better.
A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. In my judgment, she is happier if she stays as she isand I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
Imagine that: a Hollywood liberal who can’t wrap her mind around the concept of a life of self-sacrifice and devotion to God. I’m stunned, I tells ya! /sarc
I do not think it is celebacy that she cannot comprehend. I think it is the idea of complete self denial for the Lord and total surrender to Him. She cannot get her soul, her heart, her head, or her spirit around God. god to liberals is either unity, new age hooey or a permissive god.
celebacy=celibacy.
That is exactly what I was saying.
