Dead End Kids ping. (Later to morph into the Bowery Boys.)
What is going on at realtime +70yrs (2078)?
“Racy, Guttersnipe Drama”
They say it like it was a bad thing.; )
Too soon to tell.
I started out calling this Real Time + 70 Years, since I think of it as looking at the past from the past's perspective. But I got so many comments from the "there is only one real time and that is right now" crowd that it became a distraction. So I started using +/-. Now I only rarely get questioned about it.
OK, I was thinking maybe you were a time-traveler or could see the future or something.
I love this idea for a thread.
THis one is particulary juicy because way way back, as a highschool freshman I gathered some friends of mine together to become part of an entirely fictitious “gang”-
we weren’t going to hurt anybody-—called “The Termites”, and based on a followup film to the Cagney film called “Angels Wash their Faces”. I just googled this, and there was something I didn’t remember-—this was an early Ronald Reagan film!
It was the same Dead End Kids cast, with Billy Halop in the lead. This “Termites” thing lasted a few months with us, but I remember we painted the back of our jackets with
silver paint depicting two knives dripping blood, and the words THE TERMITES arrayed across the top. OUr one attempt at publicity was to call the Dick Biondi radio show and ask him to announce that he had been named an honorary member of the Termites, and that I myself had just been elected President of The Termites. He actually did announce this on the air, using my real name. We were thrilled.Dick Biondi later got canned for telling a really dirty joke on the air. He was a real goofball. We immediately excommunicated him from The Termites.

Is that anything like the Lemon Grove Kids?
About 15 years ago I was trying to convince people that they should do a hiphop remake of this, with Morgan Freeman in the Pat O'Brien part and Ice T in the Rocky part.
Look for a review here next August. That is a crucial month. The release date is within days of the German-Soviet pact. It is also around the same time as the release of a movie involving witches, munchkins and talking scarecrows.
You know, if I found out that after all that all I had to do to get home was to tap my shoes together I'd be pissed.
