I saw the first showing today. About 50 people. Some marines and a sprinkling of old folks. Some senior women without men, probably looking at Craig.
Posting to see if people want to chat.
I like the use of technology. He does a lot on his cell and interacts with Hdq computer. Good stuff and modern capability. I remember the older movies when they had the required scene with Q. Now they don't need Q. They're just using what's avilable.
This movie had a lot of old school action scenes: car chases, boat chase, fights, airplane, roof-top etc. Not the usual torture "you're going to die Mr. Bond" scenes.
Seems to be a recent theme of Bond as the rogue agent. Seemed tiring and used up. Maybe a switch in the next one.
M sure gets around out in the field.
Good to see some of South America in this movie. Now they can go back into space. The main Bond girl is a need-a-milk-shake model type, but easy to look at.
There is a tribute to Goldfinger I won't divulge.
Nice to see the villian posing as an environmentalist.
Anyone else?
Do we need a spoiler alert in a James Bond movie?
Sounds cool. I will have to take Mr. Bear out to see it.
The reviews I’ve read suggest I wouldn’t like it. I’ll just have to see Judi Dench in something else.
He maintains the agressive tough guy posture from the last film. Kind of the great white shark of spydom.
You must not be a big fan to miss a movie.
If only there was the audacity to have Bond in a future movie unmask a Marxist plot to take over a major nation.
Yes I meant America.
Anybody care to poke fun at a name of the Obama/villain 007 movie, other than something crude like “Blackfinger”.
If they do a big US plot, they'll have to build in FBI and CIA incompetence or being part of the plot.
Maybe start with a caristmatic leader who...........
Title 00-Obamanation
I think Judi Dench is a terrific M, but I just haven’t liked the recent movies (last 10 years, 15 years?) very much. The last one I really liked had that whatisname, before Pierce Brosnan, and a skinny blonde girl who played the cello, with scenes in Afghanistan. And I liked “Goldeneye” okay, but just okay.
I’m willing to agree that some of the latest half-dozen movies are “better” than older ones, but they’ve changed in ways that make it not-fun for me. I’d rather watch “Live and Let Die” again :-).
I like that Bond is a newbie now and Craig seems suited for that part.
That’s it, Timothy Dalton. He was good in the part. Roger Moore was fun, though.
Mrs. F went to see it tonight, under protest, with a bunch of coworkers.

Most favoritest Bond Girl EVAH.
Ursula and Diana Rigg.
Maybe the popcorn will be good!
I sold the coupon to the guy behind me for $3 and bought a drink.
MRS RINGO STARR !!!!!
Such good features.
Medved gave a really negative review of it today. Surprised me. I haven’t seen it yet, but Medved’s reviews are usually pretty reliable.
Something that annoyed him was the anti-american, anti-capitalism messages throughout. Can you comment on that?
