I think Judi Dench is a terrific M, but I just haven’t liked the recent movies (last 10 years, 15 years?) very much. The last one I really liked had that whatisname, before Pierce Brosnan, and a skinny blonde girl who played the cello, with scenes in Afghanistan. And I liked “Goldeneye” okay, but just okay.

I’m willing to agree that some of the latest half-dozen movies are “better” than older ones, but they’ve changed in ways that make it not-fun for me. I’d rather watch “Live and Let Die” again :-).

I like Timothy Dalton. He was ruthless and humorless. He's a good actor and was a big change from the model Moore. Maybe Craig is a little like that. I guess he wasn't as popular and the franchise needed a kick. Plus, I recall he didn't want to be Bond for life.

I like that Bond is a newbie now and Craig seems suited for that part.

THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS (1987) is one of my favorite Bond films...

LIVE AND LET DIE...Roger Moore’s first Bond film...
It is not one of my favorites...There are some scenes which make me cringe...The sheriff...How Bond deals with Mr. Big at the end...

THE SPY WHO LOVED ME is my favorite Moore Bond entry...
