Add three days to today to get the day of the week in 1938 for this date. Until a leap year then or now changes it. So if it is Thursday now it was Sunday then so today we read about yesterdays football games.
to hell with notre dame!
The game was on NBC back then, too.
:p
This Saturday it’s Notre Dame - Boston College at 8:00. Between both offenses, I expect a truly awful game. As the mercury approaches the 30 degree mark in the 3rd quarter I shall question my own sanity. There will be Nuns throughout the stadium to enforce the No Talking Rule.
You mean in 2008? I don't have access to that kind of information.
Navy was 8-38 on “forward passes”
Notre Dame attemtped 2 and completed 0.
Lots of punts.
You can’t talk?
Homer, I've got to get to work now to support the new middle class.
FReegards,

Any update on the Cleveland Rams? Haven’t seen any pro scores for a while.
Way to go, Trojans! Beat the Huskies!
A little bird tells me that Cal will never again win a Rose Bowl game.
Although the Trojans have won six straight games since dropping the season opener to Alabama, the Domers are favored to win.
Ahh, the good old days when Army and Navy were contenders.
Yes ....but last year’s Navy v. Notre Dame was an exciting game to watch!!
Navy finally ended the 42 year streak of losses - and defeated Notre Dame in overtime. Wonderful to watch.
This year, the game is on Nov. 15 - and it will be again exciting to see if Navy can pull something out. Heck - last weekend, Temple lead Navy 27 to 7 at the start of the 4th quarter, and Navy came back to tie the game at 27 - 27, and then Navy won 33 - 27 in overtime!! What a game!!
Of course - I consider the service academies to be the only really serious College football teams with student athletes. Every student has to meet tough standard to enter the service academy (unlike regular colleges) - every student has to maintain a 2.0 GPA or get dropped from the team, there are no 5th year eligible players, and after graduation, every athlete is looking at a 5 year commitment before they can try to go “Pro”. 95% of USNA athletes graduate; they have the best record for graduation of athletes. (And to add to the “amazing record” - every athlete, as well as every Mid graduating from USNA gets a Bachelor of Science degree (even in the soft areas, like English, Poli Sci, Economics, etc.) Every grad has 2 years of calculus math, 1 year each of calculus based physics and chemistry, 1 year of Electrical Engineering classes, Naval Architecture classes, etc. I wonder how well some of the top 10 football teams would fare if every player had to take the tough classes that Mids/Cadets take at service academies, and graduate in 4 years!!
On my last foray into yesteryear I decided to collect only college games for a sampling of teams to save library time. I have selected articles through 11/24. The college season will be winding down by then so maybe I can mix in some NFL action to get caught up with the pros. December is a relatively slow news month so I will look for interesting domestic stuff. I like to hit the Sunday supplements pretty hard once a month. I wish I could spend about a week combing the pages for nuggets. I better be careful what I wish for. My employer laid off 10% of our workforce yesterday. Having gone through that already last January I am eager to stay employed.
I was just happy to see the Mids lose to ND this year.
GO Army (please pull it off in December)
Only in your dreams!!
GO NAVY.
This will be the 7th year in a row that Navy defeats Army.
