Cost of ammo going up FAST!! (Gun Clinging Vanity)

Posted on 11/05/2008 4:41:45 AM PST by bayliving

I just got off the phone with an on-line ammo seller and he said that the prices of ammo are going up rapidly due to the fact that one of the first laws that the democRATs are going to pass in January will be to place a 500% excise tax on all ammo.

He said that he will not be restocking his ammo and is running out FAST!!!

Anybody needing to stock up should do it NOW!!! Otherwise you will have to place a second mortgage on your house to buy a box of rounds.

The second law will be to reinstate the Brady bill and make it permanent

Ammo cost has recently dropped and should continue. I think your dealer is being less than candid with you.

One of 0bama’s strategies is to make the price of ammo very expensive. He can do that presumably without running afoul of the 2nd Amendment. He can’t go after guns [yet] directly without running into lawsuits.

That probably won’t happen. Too many people have guns in this country.

Dems are not stupid.

those who do not abide will see ATF agents knocking on their front door with a warrant to seize any unregistered guns.

That's going to be a fatal job for agents.

Also if they do get to this point then everyone who has played nice with the STUPID LAWS will jettison them by the roadside.

Illegal silencers, sawed off shotguns, homemade machineguns .... why will people obey ANY gun law once the ATF agents are out in 'force'?

You already have to register when you buy a gun. I bought one in 1977 the day Carter was sworn in and had to give an I.D. Several years later the ATF contacted me and wanted to know who I sold it to. It had been used in a crime. Funny thing is I sold it to a cop. Guess he sold it to a crook.

Just recently bought a rifle and had to register and my info was run through NCIS.

The store clerk told me the same thing about ammo. He can’t keep it on the shelf.

“You already have to register when you buy a gun.”

Well, you are partially correct. You can still buy a gun from or sell a gun to an individual such as your neighbor without registering it or performing any other paperwork. Additionally, there are many guns possessed by individuals that were inherited or bought and sold prior to ATF documentation was required and thereby have no paper trail attached to them. Consequently, the ATF has no knowledge of this sizeable inventory. Btw, now you know the “real” reason the anti-gunners have been wanting to make it illegal for non FFL transactions at gun shows. If it should become illegal for an individual to take a firearm to a gun sale and walk around and sell it, then it's not a stretch to make it illegal for all gun sales between individuals, even standing in your driveway with your neighbor.

Ummm, I think most Americans will grumble but would register their guns as directed. I believe that there is a limit beyond which any person can not be pushed. However, most Americans are heavily vested in their jobs, family, church, community, etc, etc. Thereby, the metaphorical “line in the sand” that an American must step across and essentially become a wanted felon is much further out than the gun registration issue. Soooo, there you have it...

Here is how it will play out. They will show up at your house at 2 am because you have “failed to register” your guns. If you do not comply they will burn your house down and move on. Of course all of your chicken$hit neighbors will immediately “register” their guns.

They will not be agents. They will be the national security force and they will burn your house to the ground.

“They will show up at your house at 2 am because you have “failed to register” your guns. “

“They”, who? Anyone enforcing such laws won’t last long. My local sheriff’s department only has 300 deputies and 3/4 of those won’t for a second put their life on the line to enforce such laws. They may get suckered into doing the first few if they are told these people have warrants out for them but they will not enforce a ban. This is why we must arm up. We cannot act from strength if do not have strength to stop the remaining gung-ho Army Ranger wannabees.

Sorry but your Sheriff's Department will not stand up past the first two or three. The National Security Force is proposed to be as well armed as the Military. How well will your deputies do against Apaches? Most of them have families they want to go home to. They will pick you off one or two at a time. Two D-boys could wipe out your whole family and not be late for breakfast. Get real. A guerrilla war against the current US military hardware would be suicide. They would start burning whole city blocks next if anyone resisted. How long would people stand up to that.

Burn a city block = X number of guns turned in. Repeat as necessary. I used to get paid good money to think about how to accomplish tasks like this. I will also tell you that throughout most of the Obama administration the bulk of the Military will be deployed overseas where they will not have a chance to resit.

This is so true. Yesterday a friend purchased a new gun, and noticed the place was packed. He asked the clerk if it was because of the election, and he said no, because of the cost of ammo going up.

P.S. Your screen name may be mad_as_he$$ but it is obviously never going to be mad_enough. Go home and stop bothering people who think this country is worth fighting for. Go cower somewhere else. You are not the only person here who has any background in military operations. Not by a long shot and we don’t agree with you.

The price of ammo is going up because there is a huge demand for it. I’m sure the manufacturers are working overtime to get it to market.

Ah yes put your hands over your eyes and stomp your feet and tell mommy to make the bad man stop typing those things. Go ahead it is your funeral.

No mine is a not a defeatist attitude. Instead of ignoring me you should of asked what the plan was to stop the Obamanation. I won't shed a tear for you and fools like you when you are slaughtered in the streets and made examples of.

In other words, you’d rather celebrate being right than doing something about it. A total RINO.
