I actually surfed the Wedge.....on the types of days you actually could do it safely. Can't remember how we ended up there.....but we did. And we surfed it.

Yes, to be young again......surfing Cottons nearly by myself...18th St...on a epic swell...and the River Jetties.

I helped put up a house about the 9th one in from the jetty in 91 or so during the stormy season we had guys surfing inside the jetty tore out about 4 docks but the one we put in was fine but the duffy tied up was totaled

I was surfing there in '76 - '81 I guess.....
Though should have been in college....full time then.
I did work pretty much full time thru those years though....made good $$$ too.
Life happened....and I ended my surfing ways. Miss it even now...cause there's nothing like it...but that is life.

I was born and raised in Newport Beach..Newport Harbor High, class of ‘75, my Mom was class of ‘32, my aunts were class of ‘28.
I loved being raised there...buying fish from the dorymen, catching the grunion when they ran, building big bonfires all up and down the beach and cooking the grunion in bbq’s, calling the surf report every day and hearing Logan Lockaby tell us how the surf was...man, what a life!
