When the last F-16 is retired to the graveyard, both pilots will come back in a C-130.

A BUFF (B-52 for you Navy guys) was approaching a carrier battle group. It was intercepted by an F-14 that proceded to do loops and rolls.
The fighter jock asked the Buff crew if they were impressed. The crew said "Hold one".
The BUFF continued along for awhile, then they asked the F-14 crew if they were impressed.
The F-14 crew then mocked the BUFF crew asking what they did exactly.
The BUFF crew response was "We shut down two engines"
Quite likely. C-130 is the modern day equivalent of the C-47: do anything, do it for decades...........

Any 3rd-world fighter jock would know: shoot one missle to make the flares go. Then shoot the 2nd and 3rd and 4th missle.
Sent this to my son who is also a C-130 Crew Chief.
He just got back from Iraq last week.
Let him know how proud we are please and a big welcome home to him.
We are lucky to have such great kids.
cruising at 1500 feet in a UH1, straight and level, a birddog came up alongside and asked if we wanted to race. The pilot said sure, and pulled back on the cyclic until we were hovering, and announced, “we will start from here”.
I taught Turboprop Mechanics when I was in USAF. A lot of the newbies would tell us that this was their second choice with jet mech being their first.We would tell them that jets sucked and blowed while Turboprops screwed their way around the world.C-130’s 4-Ever!
Sure is- first time I heard it, 20+ years ago, it was about a B-36 and an F-86. The guy that told it to me was ancient, too :)

LOL. When I was in High School, I was president of our aeronautics club, and arranged for guest speakers from all over the aviation field. I had one guy who had been a C130 pilot in Viet Nam. He talked about how on the ground you could tell the fighter pilots from the cargo pilots because the fighter pilots would have their flight suits unzipped to their navels with their sunglasses clipped over the zipper. The cargo pilots would have a plastic spoon in their sleeve pocket so they could stir their coffee....
We were alerted to a couple of F-18s on an intercept heading, so two of the weapon system crew (of which, I was one) looked out the windows (I was on the port side).
Saw one of the F-18s come up under our wing (not real close, just came up from below). Waved at him through the window and saluted (I was an NCO, figured it was a good gesture before getting "shot down"). He saluted back (nice guy - paying his respects before shooting us down)
Our pilot came over the radio and said for everyone to buckle in. We twisted and turned and ducked and dived for about 10 minutes while completely avoiding being "shot down" by guns.
We were listening to the F-18 pilots. They soon tired of us and went about 10 NM out. Got us with air to air missiles.
Never been so sick in my life on a plane, never been more grateful for the C-130 and our wonderful pilot. Had it been a real thing, we avoided the guns long enough for a CAP to come to our rescue.
